Peshawar Zalmi and Multan Sultans continue their streaks; the contrary method

Peshawar Zalmi make it three out of three following wins over Quetta, Lahore and Multan

After defeating Multan Sultans in the sixteenth match of the season, Peshawar Zalmi stretched their little winning run to three matches after having the same number of losses in their first three matches. The team, that struggled at the start of the season finally found their composition and registered consecutive wins over Quetta Gladiators, Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans, in that order. They have now moved to third in the standings, with as much points as the the teams ahead. With the only difference being the net run rate.

The team was aided by Dwayne Smith coming to the party with his belligerent batting, and match winning innings against the Multan Sultans. But, the most important saving grace for them was their bowling duo of Wahab Riaz and Hasan Ali finally finding form. They now share 21 wickets between them at an average of 15.14. Simply, sensational.

Multan Sultans continue to slide down the standings

Including the aforementioned loss against the Peshawar Zalmi, the Multan Sultans have now lost four games on the trot. That's a streak they would desperately want to break. Shoaib Malik and Sohaib Maqsood's batting records have been impressive, but they have been unable to convert their individual performances into wins for the team. Junaid Khan, who struck gold in the first few games with the ball, has been unable to replicate the same level of success ever since he came back from injury.

Right now, the Multan Sultans bank on the experiences of their marquee overseas players such as Kumar Sangakkara, Kieron Pollard and Imran Tahir, who, so far have had quite the underwhelming season. The Multan Sultans could also widely benefit if Ahmed Shehzad could find some form and is consistently able to provide starts to a very capable lower-order that eventually leads them to a win.

Shadab Khan and Rumman Raees pull-off a sensational feat against Karachi Kings

SHARJAH: In all important match between Islamabad United and Karachi Kings, Rumman Raees and Shadab Khan pulled off unprecedented performances to register a comprehensive 42-run win to propel their team towards the top of the standings.

After opting to bat first on a slow, spinner-friendly pitch. Islamabad United posted a mediocre total of 168/8 with Faheem Ashraf and Asif Ali's innings being their saving grace. If it weren't for them, the team would've folded like an accordion way quickly to a smaller total. Asif Ali, playing his first match of the season scored a crucial fifty, and Faheem Ashraf played a responsible yet fiery knock, remaining unbeaten on 48 off 34 balls.

Karachi Kings' retaliation was shut down by Rumman Raees and Shadab Khan, who put the 'D' in defeat for them. Rumman Raees dismissed the top-order and finished with a 4-wicket haul, and Shadab Khan picked up a hat trick in the 17th over of the game to turn it completely in favour of his team.
