Story The TT Lion's Journey - Rejuvanated

The Youth Academy

What has the youth academy got in store for us today? Lets see:

Age: 17 YO
No ITS

And we get:

Nigel Staton
LH Batsman, LH Spin Bowler, respectable batting form, respectable bowling form, changeable
A steady player with strong leadership skills and abysmal experience.
Battrick Rating: 454
Wages: ?270 p/w

Coach's Comments:
Useful tailender, can't bowl, decent keeper, worthless fielder, lacks concentration, highly inconsistent, tires very easily

Manager's Thoughts:
Just not good enough. Fired.

TT Lions crush Antigua All-Stars
Dennis crushes All-star bowling, Lyon and Ellington efforts go in vain.
scorecard9nv.jpg

Talk about kicking off with a bang. The TT Lions start their PC League Campaign on the right foot here, cruising home to a crushing 7 wicket victory with 15 balls to spare.
The Antigua All-Stars won the toss and elected to bat first. Things started horribly for them as Mills and Spearitt both fell in the first over itself to Karl Deane. But Cuffy, Lyons and Ellington played wonderful innings to take the Antigua All-Stars to what seemed a respectable total of 282/5.
The TT Lions then kicked off the runchase in style, with a wonderful 138 run partnership between Mpumelele and Dennis. Mpumelele was bowled by allrounder Cuffy, but by then it was too little too late. Greenwood came in and blazed away for a fantastic 74, and along with Bunn, took the TT Lions home with plenty of time to spare.

Ratings:

Not much to speak of.

Income

Not much, the match being a friendly, and the Antigua All-Stars not being a great team. Only ?3576 for each team.

Some random person called Trethias challenged me for some reason. His highest BT rating was only about 12,000. I'm a good sport (and I needed the money :p ) so I accepted.

Down At the Transfer Market

The TT Lions welcome a new player in the today:

Lennox Rudi (445183)
LH Batsman, LM Bowler, competent batting form, proficient bowling form, lively
A defensive player with feeble leadership skills and worthless experience.

Plays For: TT Lions
Nationality: West Indies
Age: 17 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 4,913

The TT Lions strongly welcome him into the squad, and hope he has good success playing for the team. The TT Lions feel that he could only stregthen the squad further

Manager's Thoughts:
We signed him for 275,000 pounds, so he better do well! :p

Breaking News
Dawson dropped, Rudi in!

Simon Dawson has been left out of the lineup for today's match against Ogden Social Club at the last minute for newcomer Lennox Rudi. When questioned on the last minute cange, Zorax Doom replied:
"Well, this is going to be his first game, and we want an evaluation on his skills. He is young and has quite a bright future ahead of him"

OOOH AAAH RUDI!
Allrounder grabs 6 on debut as TT Lions sneak home in thriller!

Now this is what you call a memorable debut. Youngster Lennox Rudi kicked off his career with a bang, taking 6 wickets and scoring a valuable 38 off 39 as the TT Lions inched back home in a real thriller.
The TT Lions got off to a great start, Rudi opening the bowling taking his first wicket in his very first over. Evason didn't last long either, as Rudi grabbed 2/26 in his first spell. Chlorey and Stifler then built up a fine partrtnership, scoring pretty freely off spinners Cash and Tuckett. The partnership was worth 69 before Tuckett caught Stifler off gaurd going for the sweep. Webb played second fiddle as Chlorey went beserk, before being run out via a direct hit from Cash. Wicketkeeper Desouze cam in and built up a dangerous looking 66 run partnership with Chlorey, before it was that man Rudi who struck, trappin Chlorey plumb. He bowled an amazing spell of 3/0/12/4 as he ripped apart the tail. However, hee soon ran out of steam, struggling to even keep the ball on the pitch in his final two overs. Number 11 batsman Ganfield pitching in with a useful 20, and Desouza brining up his fifty took the score to 248/9. A target which seemed defendable, especially on a spinning track with 4 spinners.
The TT Lions got off to a shaky start, Mpumelele getting out for 2. Greenwood came in at three and went hell bent to whack the leather off the ball. He ended up mistiming one at 23 and leaving the score at a shaky 36/2. Craig Bunn on the other end was playing beautifuly, in only his second match for the team. Jordan Tsoeu realized the needs of the team, and grinded out a painstaking 31 off 87 balls before nicking one behind off medium pacer Weekes, ending a very useful 92 run partnership. Then that man Rudi walked in. Bunn brought up his fifty, but fell with the score at 142. It then boiled down to this: 86 runs, 60 balls, 6 wickets, Dennis and Rudi on strike. Rudi didn't dissapoint, blazing away for 38 off just 39 balls, but getting too cheeky against Ganfield cost him his wicket. But skipper Arthur Dennis ensured the match would end in a positive result for the Lions, hitting away for a fine 61 off 43 balls. 7 runs were required off the last 6 balls, but Nguyen-lee and Dennis held their cool and took the team home safely with 2 balls to spare.

Ratings:

A real thriller, but if it wasn't for Rudi, you'll see my bowling was pretty weak.
