Indians Show There Class in One Day Format
The Twenty20 world champions today showed why they are a force to be reckoned with in One Day cricket by beating the World XI by 5 wickets with 20 balls to spare,
The pitch was a batsmen's paradise and we were in for two hopefully big scores, India won the toss and decided that on a pitch like this it might offer something first up and that chasing would be a good idea, But it wasnt untill the end of the 20th over that the first breakthrough came. Anil Kumble getting one to turn and bounce and Hussey providing the egde for Dhoni to catch. The famous saying 'One brings two' was the right one for the next wicket, Ricky Ponting having sat up in the pavillion for over 20 overs only lasted 6 balls with Dhoni producing a stunning catch. Gilly the next man to go for 61 trying to hoist one for 6 only pick out Pathan, then KP and Pup(Michael Clarke) provided the fireworks that this game deserved and was waiting for. A sparkling partnership of 123 from 92 balls, Pietersen and Clarke both showing why they are world class youngsters. The World XI ended up 304/4 after 50 overs.

These two fell and bought Yuvraj to the crease, who was firing on all cylinders there had been some banter between the players and this had spurred him on hitting eight 4's and four 6's in just over a run a ball 113. He and Sachin shared a partnership of 92 before Sachin fell to Michael Clarke. VVS and Yuvraj then shared 138 run partnership off 122 balls. VVS hitting seven 4's and a 6 in his 68. It was unlucky that niether could be there at the end to round off a spectacular win Dhoni and Zaheer Khan kept there heads to knock the winning runs off.

India clinch series with 'World Class' performance.
The Little Master does it once again for India
India produced an outstanding batting performance to clinch the ODI series against the World XI. Sachin Tendulkar once again was the man of the hour for India once again has he produced a superb knock of 130 from 143 balls. Yuvraj Singh played an excellent cameo in the latter stages of the innings ending on 36 off 24 balls with four 4's and two 6's. The World XI's bowlng figures didnt look too pretty by the end of the innings with 4 of 6 bowlers going for more than 6 runs per over. The pick of the World XI bowlers was New Zealand spinner Daniel Vettori taking 1-40 off his 10 overs. Fellow New Zealander Jacob Oram had some economical figures with 0-40 off 8 overs.Michael Clarke had the worst bowling figures with 0-26 off just 3 overs. The World XI bowling lacked consitency with not enough wicket taking balls being bowled. This showed on their performance in the field with a few misfields and dropped catches. Overall the World XI will want to improve on their bowling performance and try and gain some consolation in the last game before tour Sri Lanka.

The World XI's batting peformance didnt get off to a great start when with only 17 runs on the board Gilly tried to get his innings going but ended up spooning a catch to Pathan at Mid Wicket. Herschelle Gibbs was the star of the innings with 89 off 131 balls. Pietersen, Clarke and Chanderpaul were all out in their 30's playing rash shots when there team needed them most. Each player will think that if they had contributed just a few more runs then they would have gotten their team over the line. Michael looked to try and get the World XI over the line with 55 from 32 balls but he didnt haven enough tme. The Indian bowlers were a mixed bag with some being expenisve and some being rather economical. Harbhajan Singh went at just 3 an over and picking up a wicket while both Khan and Pathan both went at 4 an over picking up a wicket each. But Yuvraj, Ganguly and Sachin all went at over 7 an over.

India destroyed as World XI produce outstanding performance.
Shane Bond produced figures of 4-46
India were convincingly beaten by the World XI in the last match of the ODI series. The match was reduced to 43 Overs a side because of overnight rain pushing the start of play back but the Crowds were treated to an excellent performance from the World XI. The pitch looked like a batting dream and that there would be nothng in the pitch for the bowlers. Each team made a few changes as it was the last game. The World XI brought in Chris Gayle and Fidel Edwards and India brought youngster Pankaj Singh, Spinner Ramesh Powar and Big Hitter Sehwag. The toss was won by Stand in skipper Michael Clarke and with no hesitation batted first.

The World XI's approach to this game was immediately seen as Pathan's 2nd ball went for 4. Off just 12 balls the World XI had reached 27 without loss.
Gayle, Gibbs, Pietersen and skipper Clarke all made decent half centuries, 3 of them being scored at over a run a ball. India were immediately fustrated by this as after just one over Pathan was taken out of the attack and Sourav Ganguly was brought into the attack. He did a better job but still went for 9 runs. Gale and Gibbs put on 105 for the first wicket off just 81 balls. Chris Gayle smashed 55 off just 39 balls with four 4's and three 6's. Herschelle Gibbs played the holding role as he tried to give as much of the strike to Gayle as possible but also chipping in where possible. Gibbs and Pietersen then put on 77 from 68 balls. The Indian bowling was hammered to all parts with Sehwag the only bowler going at under 6 an Over. Irfan Pathan, Anil Kumble, Zaheer Kahn and Yuvraj Singh all picked up a wicket a piece. As they only managed to pick up 4 wickets.
