Original Olympians qualify for semi-finals​

The group stage concluded with Great Britain's much expected victory over a spirited Canadian side. Now it's down to the four original Olympians - Australia, Canada, Great Britain and the United States to face off the the semi-finals to contest for a final berth.

All of the four newcomers were knocked out. Though Argentina and France finished with victories, it wasn't enough to push them to the top two of their respective groups.

Well, we've decided to put an extra batsman into the side, which means that one of the batsmen will have to turn his arm over. To beat GB would be enormous (and enormously unlikely) but with King, Lester and Patterson in the side, anything can happen. Reynolds Brown is pretty lucky to hold onto his place; hopefully he'll give it a whack down the order. I'd still back us to get a medal come what may though.​

Another one of those one sided matches and yet another comprehensive win for Great Britain. Archie MacLaren led from the front and Gilbert Jessop ended the innings.Rest of the team collapsed but I'm sure they can bounce back. Bowlers completely destroyed the opposition's batting, It was yet another special bowling spell from Bill lockwood.

To be fair he's still a bit out of place in the opening position. In 1900 he was primarily a bowler who could bat a bit, not an opener. He didn't start batting there at international level until 1904.
