Post Line-ups Legends At Battle XII | Round 3 - The greatest ODI batter who never was..

..... Wtf happened?

Flat pitch, although that doesn't guarantee runs when you're up against a lethal bowling attack and have a couple of underperforming openers.

Also, the naturally aggressive Miandad isn't suited to the No 3 position which should usually be occupied by someone with a more defensive sheet anchor-like approach. One of Shoaib Mohammed, Rameez Raja or Ijaz Ahmed might just fit the bill.

Great come back win for us,largely due to our top 4 in 2nd innings, but the batting collapse in 1st innings was a unexpected thing, but the lads bounced back strongly which the mighty aussies always does.

Disappointed with the 1992-98 WI. While that timeline they would miss good like Eldine Baptiste, Tony Gray and Reon King, they could have added the likes of Patrick Patterson (!), Nixon McLean, Cameron Cuffy or Vasbert Drakes (ODI debut in 1995) instead of having to play Rose and Browne. They could have had another batsman in for Browne. If you like to have 3 keepers in the squad for some reason, Floyd Reifer is your man.

Looks quite similar to JP Duminy.

Round 2 fixtures

West Indies B v Pakistan
at Barbados

- Evenly balanced contest between bat and ball expected.
- Players unavailable: Frank Worrell (Injured for 1 match)

New Zealand v South Africa A at Auckland

- Offers prodigious swing early on, but becomes better for batting as the match progresses.
- Players unavailable: none

Australia C v West Indies A at Perth

- Ideal pitch for fast bowlers but runs are sill there for the taking.
- Players unavailable: Jeff Thomson (Injured for 2 matches)

India v South Africa B at Delhi

- Excellent for batting. Spinners will have to bowl long and tiring spells.
- Players unavailable: none

Legends XI v West Indies C at Lord's

- Sticky 1890s style wicket. Absolute nightmare to bat on.
- Players unavailable: Charlie Turner (1 match)

Australia B v Australia A at The SCG

- Something in it for the spinners but overall very batting-friendly.
- Players unavailable: none

Stats have been updated. Taking Round 2 lineups in the thread.

same line-up

Not a good call, mate. Your batting with Courtney Browne batting as high as 6 followed by taildenders doesn't stand a ghost of a chance against those demonic Victorian bowlers on a wicket like that. You're basically all out once you lose Lara and Chanderpaul. You REALLY need Hooper at 5/6 and Ridley Jacobs at 7.

I think this XI deserves another chance especially Ken Rutherford. That man really was one of the best sheet anchors the Kiwis ever had. I'd go same.

Sherwin Campbell
Stuart Williams
Brian Lara
Shivnarine Chanderpaul
Carl Hooper
Ridley Jacobs
Winston Benjamin
