MattW Downloads - Channel Nine Overlay

I really think you'll probably need to go through manually.

Yes,but you can manually place later in the way you want.It just gives effect and the size we want.

Anyway, I have attached the tool,if anyone interested can check it out.
This tool can give effects to the logos for a large batch.

That is interesting. I quite like the 'metal' effect - I'll go take a look at how they are in game like that.

Interesting, I've finished creating all my templates now, got the sizes right and such. An automatic tool to do what the templates would is quite an idea though.

The issue with that one is it can't do any of the mirrored logos, cropped, or the HUD ones correctly, so we'd either have to make our own tool, or do it by hand still.

Speaking of the HUD ones though, for the one that overlays on the scoreboard, would people rather it have a grey border, or have it as is?

I'll attach my templates to this post if anyone wants to have a look.

To use them the following procedure is how I've done it once I'm settled on a source:

Emblem: Choose the green box, delete it's context, paste into that layer, then resize it to be at most 235 in any direction, flip vertically

HUD: Delete top green box, paste to that layer, at most 59 in any direction
Then delete bottom green box, paste to that layer, at most 62 in any direction

Cropped: Delete the green box, paste to that layer, set width to 82

Small: Delete the green box, paste to that layer, set such that any direction is at most 68

MLg: Delete the top green box, paste to that layer, set such that any direction is at most 196
Repeat for bottom green box, flip vertically
Set canvas to 304 by 353

Mir: Take MLg as it was, resize to width 190, then set canvas size to have a height of 240

It's actually a bit of work redoing the whole set. Maybe we can make something to do it automatically.

It seems that in GIMP you can make it run a script to do such things, if I can do that we could get this kind of thing done quick.

While I try to avoid mentioning it - because of my assumption that if I say the tools I use, people will go out and pirate them, but I use Fireworks. An old Macromedia version because it still does the job and Adobe tripled the price after getting their monopoly.

Maybe I could chuck it to the GIMP to script putting things in the right spot, but wouldn't want to learn a new tool for the rest of the work.

Happy to keep plugging along manually.

Rightyo, I'll see if I can make a system to take source files and output the whole set.

Excellent being the answer here:

Will look to do a full set based on that design.

Hmmm... learning how to scrip in GIMP seems a bit much for something that will probably take less time by hand. I think that now I'm settled on templates I'll go and make my new set.

I guess one way of doing things would be to have alternatives. I might just do a cleaner version of my old one.

Do you mind if I use your source files for the internationals?

These ones look much better than the previous ones with the grey outline. Are you in the process of figuring out how to change the overlays and not just logos on it?

Overlay editing isn't opened up yet. I'm sure everyone realises the moment it is, that's all I'll be doing.
