For the first time ever, the World Championship is to be held in Australia. The English champions have travelled to warmer climes in the winter in order to compete, while the current holders of the Plunket Shield, Auckland, have been invited in order to make up the numbers. They will hope to be able to do more than that, but cricket in New Zealand is still extremely amateur. Yet another difficult task for @VC the slogger
