The presidents of each Planet Cricket Battrick competition have held talks in "MSN" and it seems that it is time for the merger. Its now or never as both systems seem to not be able to finish at the same time and Griffo is prepared to sacrifice his previous work to finally link up the two compeitions

Right seems like Griffo is ready to merge, but in divisional structure with Groups of 4, if we merge, we have 28 teams, 7 divisions, A giant ladder, with a 2 up, 2 down promotion-demotion principle

I think that it has to be done now before we stall ONCE AGAIN! and delay it, this format will be much more competitive and everyone will have their own goals in which to strive for. I think its a terriffic idea and yes im willing to sacrifice my previous work

It will be great to work with the person who handed the Shield dutys over to me

One minor suggestion would be 1 promo/1 demotion but its up to the masses

i'd say 1 up one down personally, at 6 weeks a season (if you play each team twice) depending on cup runs it's 2 seasons for a battrick season. be easy to add in new teams too as you could simply just add on a division (at the bottom, obviously)

perhaps a simultaneous cup to break potential monotony (not to be introduced straight away, just to be thought about)


how will the divisions be sorted originally? random draw and 2 up 2 down to allow faster balancing, or seeded?

As far as I know Griffo will beging to seed teams after the training updates tomorrow.

I agree 1 up 1 down.....coz with 2 up and 2 down you'll have in one round....bottom 2 teams of group 1 with top 2 teams of group 3.

7 straight div is tooo long.... it will take a long time for a div 7 team to get to the top...
i think something like battrick system...
1 top div 2 IInd div and 4 3rd divs and so on... make it more practical imo....

Its not possible... We need something which will fit the amount of time. You guys have to think of Effine and I as well, with a system like that it wont give us much sleep at all...

Can I be relegated from the lowest division?

No not possible, you would just stay down there

What about four teams in a group, like the Soccer world Cup? 32 teams, each teams plays each other once then top two progress. Knock out from there. Sounds simple to me.

Its similar to that but its more like County Cricket, it will make more games competitive each week and people will recognize where they stand amongst their peers

Well, roughly how long will the competition run for?

It all depends on cup runs... but with 10 weeks left there would be 9 weeks of the comp depending on how quick we get sign ups and organise things
