Will we ever discover other life forms and should even attempt to do so?

non-complex forms such as microbes almost certainly (in fact haven't we already?); i would certainly expect that given the size of the universe complex and even intelligent life is out there somewhere. but, it may be too distant for us to discover.

i believe the extension of human knowledge is a wondrous thing so absolutely we should attempt to find it.

Ever considered signing up as a writer for PlanetCricket? We have no active ones at the moment... I personally think that you will be good at it :yes

Thank you, that's very kind. I sort of was one at one point, though never officially. I wrote a couple of articles particularly around the time of the whole KP sacking saga.

I stopped because it took ages for them to go up, and usually by the time they did they were no longer relevant. In fact the last article I wrote was never published so I de-submitted about 2 weeks later. (Either Matt or Barmy gave me a login to the PC wordpress, so i was able to go in and delete it.)

Also, the way the format was done was the article would be on the front page, and it would have no comments on it. There would be a separate thread on the forum where comments were... it was so disjointed that it obviously discouraged commenting, and in turn it's discouraging to write something as an "article" and get no response, when I can post one paragraph on a forum and get a response.

I don't have time to really commit to something properly any way, but I'd write something if I thought of a subject and the other issues were resolved.

Apart from your utter laziness and miserablegittishness what character trait would you like to change and why?

@blockerdave it's great to see that there are still people like you for whom politics isn't just black and white. It was nice interacting with you :thumbs

You think Ashes Cricket(the game) will live up to it's expectations?

Favorite batsman and bowler?

Should ECB change their decision regarding Stokes, they've him in the squad for Ashes.

Best thing about your country?

- It's a tough one. DBC14 and DBC17 both had some great things and features, but were let down by some larger bugs and occasionally poor design. but i got hours of enjoyment out of both. of the information that has been released about Ashes so far, i don't see a particularly compelling reason to buy it. if it's DBC17 with fixed bugs and licenses... i don't think that would be enough. or well, if it was that and a really powerful AI maybe. But i still hope for at least 1 compelling "back of the box" feature that makes you go "i want to try that".

Favourite batsman and bowler?
- Batsman, Brian Charles Lara. If I was told I could watch a batsman at the top of his form bat for a day, it would be him. I also loved Aravinda da Silva. What a gloriously elegant player he was. (favourite English Batsman, KP or Vaughan.)
- Bowler, probably Darren Gough. (Non-English, Courtney Walsh.)
- If picking current players, it would be Root and Anderson.
- Current non-english: I'd pick Kohli for batsman because he did something I didn't think was possible: make me admire a T20 innings. It was in the WT20, I think it was this one. It helped that it was beating Australia of course.
- non-English current bowler is Josh Hazlewood. I don't think he's any good but I find it touchingly hilarious the Aussies think that pie chucker is the next McGrath. (Last Aussie bowler I called a pie chucker was Peter Siddle, and he promptly took an Ashes hat trick.)

Should ECB change their decision regarding Stokes, they've him in the squad for Ashes.
-Unless or until he is charged with something, I think it is reasonable to leave him in the squad.

Best thing about your country?
-We are remarkably tolerant by most standards, and committed to individual liberty. We will probably remain so until the anti-semitic freedom hating corbynites take over, which unfortunately they will.

Describe your perfect Girl friend one my wife doesn't know about of course! kidding - I have always had a thing for quiet, intelligent, girl next door types.

This seems to describe me to a tee... ? Although annoying arsehole maybe in some eye more apt... ?

Do you prefer women with brown or blonde hair. i have fancied more brunettes in my life, but hair colour doesn't matter to me.

I think this is so the case

Who is the most annoying on PC. no individual annoys me particularly. there are particular habits lots of posters share that i don't enjoy.

Name and shame... ?

What do you do if you can’t sleep at night? Do you count sheep? Toss and Turn? Try to get up and do something productive. apologies for being rude but i've reached the age where if i can't sleep at night i probably just need a wee.

Don't worry it's the same here all good.

What's the best thing about being married (I doubt this). love and companionship.

I do agree this is something I look forward to when my husband comes home on fleek.

Are you going to ask sweet (little) Caroline more questions i will think of some.

Over to you... ?

I'd advise avoiding putting arseholes in eyes it can't be sanitary. i'll be honest "quiet" isn't the first adjective that springs to mind.

Where does the name 'blocker' come from?
Is your avatar of an actual cricket team called 'Dave City'?
Are you Dave Courtney the cockney gangsta?

In real cricket, I have 2 shots, the forward defensive and the hoik to leg. hoiktolegdave is two more letters to type.

It's a logo made by @Biggs for me for my online team in DBC14, the Dave City Rollers (in my head, a brilliant pun on Bay City Rollers).

My initials are indeed DC. More than this I cannot say... (or rather, no, no i'm not.)

Do you read back through the questions to view the answer given to your questions... ?
