Diamond Eagles gave themselves the bat after winning the toss but it never payed-off properly as they could only manage 147/7 on a batsmen-friendly wicket.
Two 40-odd run knocks from Ben Hector and Davy Jacobs drove the innings for the Eagles, but the failures of rest of the batsmen led only to a mediocre total.

Mark Cleary and Ottis Gibson were once more the pick of the bowlers for Leicestershire Foxes. Those two have been the most consistent bowlers for any team.
Both bowlers bagged two wickets each with the latter being slightly more expensive than his counterpart, but that is forgivable given the condition of the pitch.

Oh, what a relief! Leicestershire Foxes edge out the Eagles by chasing this total down on the penultimate delivery of the chase with just two wickets to spare.
An anchoring innings from Brad Hodge kept the team alive after their openers couldn't quite live up to the expectations. He scored a sturdy 45 from 43 balls.

Paul Nixon chipped in with a pivotal cameo that lasted only 11 deliveries, but saw him score 20 runs and sway the momentum of this game in favor of his side.
Ottis Gibson partnered with Brad Hodge to stop the regular fall of wickets, as well as score runs at a respectable pace after Paul Nixon's premature departure.

Just when it seemed like the Eagles were back in this game with dismissals of Hodge and Gibson in the space of four balls, Mark Cleary stepped up with the bat.
His match-winning cameo of 29 runs from just 12 deliveries with 2 fours and 1 six changed the outcome of this game, and gave the Foxes a neat consolation win.

That's it ! The tournament for us , ended in a rather farcical way .

Our fans at home would be surely disappointed with the way we have won matches . Some thrillers where we couldn't hold those "moments" ......

That said , another season , another shot at the trophy type optimism , me as a manager has to wait ............

@Na Maloom Afraad :cheers for the whole run process of this 4-team tournament .....

Since I have no choice as my backups did fail miserably. I'll go back to Jacobs and Dippenaar to open. Bosman at 3

Rest is same. Boeta and Davy, this is your time to shine! Do what you did in 06. Diamond Eagles! Time to fly and shine.

Yeah, the game's simmed. Compiled the stats yesterday so I can decide who the Man of the Tournament, Leading Wicket-Taker and Leading Run-Scorer is going to be in the final. Started posting the game today, but felt too tired to complete the presentation. Tomorrow or the day after probably.

It's only been five days, btw. :p

Eagles' decision to bowl first after winning the toss has proved to be the right one. No one could know how the pitch is going to behave better than the hom team.
Roger Telemachus made early inroads by dismissing Aaron Finch on the last delivery of the very first over. It was mostly because of Nicky Boje's incredible catch.

On the first delivery of the second over, Cliffe Deacon claimed the wicket of Michael Klinger as the Victorian Bushrangers slumped further to be at 3/2 in 1.1.
An incredible start to an important encounter as the Eagles dispatch both Bushrangers' openers within the first two overs. Can Victorian Bushrangers come back?

Bushrangers' woes continue, as both David Hussey and Cameron White fall after scores of 10 and 4 respectively. Bushrangers find themselves on 25/4 in 5.0.
A rash and not needed shot from Hussey cost him his wicket to Cliffe Deacon, and Roger Telemachus dismissed White with an on-point yorker on middle-stump.

Code:
5.1 Cliffe Deacon to Brad Hodge, Scorching bouncer, the batsman clearly didn't expect that and just sways out of the way at the last moment! (0)

Adam Crosthwaite and Brad Hodge have rejuvenated Bushrangers' innings with solid, cautious knocks to take them from 25/4 after 5.0, to 66/4 after 10.0.
Scores or the scoring-rate they've been plodding along isn't exactly suited to twenty-twenty cricket, but given the pitch and their start, it is highly respectable.

10.4 Nicky Boje to Brad Hodge, Reverse sweep! Cheeky. Only one run though. (1)
10.5 Nicky Boje to Adam Crosthwaite, Driven beautifully into the gap. A sprawling effort in the deep keeps it down to three. (3)

Fifty for Adam Crosthwaite! This has been an innings of immense grit and resilience. Him and Brad Hodge have resuscitated Victorian Bushrangers' hopes.
This game is very much alive, and the momentum's on Bushrangers' side. Eagles will have to make a comeback if they want to restrict them to an achievable total.

Much needed breakthrough for the Diamond Eagles! Adam Crosthwaite tried his luck one too many times, and now he has to pay the price for it with his wicket.
An easy catch brings an end to Adam Crosthwaite's renaissance. Dillon du Preez has provided his team with a breakthrough, but can they capitalize on it?

They have capitalized on it! Nicky Boje bags two wickets in the 18th over to derail the Bushrangers after Adam Crosthwaite and Brad Hodge's anchoring innings.
134/7 is not a bad score on a pitch like this, but the Bushrangers will want to finish on a much more explosive note to give the Eagles somewhat of a challenge.

A lackluster finish brings the Bushrangers' innings to a close, as they could only manage 13 runs in the last 2.0 overs for the loss of 2 wickets, finishing on 147/9.
Brad Hodge fittingly drove this score with a cautious, calculated knock. He scored 60 runs off 56 deliveries before being dismissed on the last ball of the innings.

Boeta Dippenaar latched onto an excellent catch to end the Bushrangers' innings. Regardless, the Bushrangers will be happy with what they've accomplished.
Statistically, Bushrangers have the best bowling of the tournament, and tho Eagles haven't exactly delivered with the bat, they are capable of chasing this down.

Bushrangers' top-order failed to deliver in the final but fortunately for them, Brad Hodge and Adam Crosthwaite came to their rescue with blistering knocks.
They revived their team with a 92-run 5th-wicket stand, during which, both achieved their fifties. If it weren't for them, this game would've been over already.

It was a spectacular display of bowling from the Eagles with only one bowler going wicketless. Telemachus, Deacon, Boje and McLaren bagged two scalps apiece.
Johan van der Wath went wicketless and conceded 25 runs in 3.0. All in all, Eagles will be really happy with their bowling effort apart from few middle overs.

Bowling was really good in the start, but we just didn’t capitalise it in the middle overs. Hope we can chase it down.

At 25/4 it was bad situation but Hodge and Crosthwaite played well to take us to a good total
Hope we could defend it
