Both if he is dropped from the white ball format then Indian Cricket is just doomed for the bad.
I'm pretty certain that "drop" is not the case here, more of an injury thing. Rohit is too big of a player in the ODI side to be dropped.

Regarding "if he is not fit then why he is gearing up for a return in IPL", best guess would be the $$$ factor. Owners might have arm twisted BCCI into letting him play the remaining matches as he is an integral cog in MI batting as well. I wouldn't rule that theory out.

I find it interesting that somehow the fortunes align in his favor making him skip overseas tests and thereby not face the heat at the top of the batting order on bowler friendly conditions
I certainly don't think he is cut out for Test cricket. I mean he will probably manage to have decent numbers in home Tests but will struggle in SENA pitches on most occasions. So it's a blessing in disguise that won't be part of Test team. I, for one, am happy about this.

I think a player has earned the right to prioritize whether he wants to play IPL or international match.

Where is the @Bevab post on CSK?

Where it has always been I guess. :p

Haven't deleted it as far as I know. Wonder what you think about Chennai's last two games with them rotating the squad?

I agree with this, but the player in question must also face the heat that will inevitably rise up when he prioritizes club over country. Rohit also pulled out of the last tour early after scoring a decent fifty due to the birth of his newborn which will further fuel any controversy as it did back then when he was unfavourably compared to Dhoni's stance when the latter faced a similar situation.

I still think he will be a late addition to the squad, makes sense that they are prioritizing confirming and sending over players who are completely fit in the first place. Do not be surprised if Pant makes a late entry into the ODI squad too after he 'miraculously' passes whatever fitness test he was supposedly struggling with.

Bairstow sitting out seems fair. He hasn't fired at all barring 2 innings if my memory serves me right. Saha is also not an good replacement but we have no other WK option left.

Appears like SRH is trying to come up with the best possible combination with whatever resource it has in its bank. Not ideal but will have to make do with.

@LiveLoveABD called out long ago, although I guess he would have wanted Goswami in the XI instead of Saha who is not any good with the bat at the moment.

TBH, I think having Holder in the team gives SRH a much needed team balance.

I think SRH should go with him going ahead, as he will provide a much needed experienced third pace option and also a handy batsman.
That means one of Bairstow or Kane must be dropped, and I strongly believe it must be Bairstow. Yes, he had made sone runs but he has largely been a flat track bully. Would be much better having Kane in the XI.

However, it means one of Priyam or Samad has to sit out, and it has to be Priyam as Samad’s big hitting is a very important asset.

Thus the XI turns out to be...

David Warner
Saha / Goswami
Manish Pandey
Kane Williamson
Vijay Shankar
Abdul Samad
Jason Holder
Rashid Khan
Shahbaz Nadeem
Sandeep Sharma
T Natarajan[DOUBLEPOST=1603393097][/DOUBLEPOST]Of course, Shankar, Samad and Holder’s bating positions are flexible
Called out this lineup a little while ago

I've forgotten how good Warner was when he was fluent from the start. Looks imperious already.

Bruh, we’re talking about a team which scored 17-7 in the last four overs in the previous match

It’s far from over
