Im going To Reinstall Cricket 2004

I'm tempted to go back I must admit. If you can look past the crappy player models etc it has so many plus points compared to C07.

- line up editor
- plenty of AI patches
- I can actually get wickets on C2004!
- batting is very good
- bigger grounds
- more grounds
- fielders weren't like world class sprinters
- More aggressive AI in FC/test matches.

I suspect I could go on for quite a while. Strangely though, Cricket 07 runs better on my computer!

I'll add that myself and Burma did a roster/bat pack for it too. :D 32 bats I think it was, can't remember exactly. Then we matched up what bats we could and off it went. I loved the player editor, but doing something like that tested the love! It was worth it, even if it was only for the quality bats.

Richard Johnson, Graham Thorpe, Mark Butcher, Nasser Hussain in your squad? Those were the days.

Batting on Cricket 2004 was the best i've ever experienced in a Cricket game. The bowling was awful though.
Yeah bowling was crap!! No Swing, very Little Seam, and very little spin!

I've fell in love with this game again. I forgot how brilliant some of the shot animations where.

I CANT FIND MY CD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOW IS THIS FAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ive still got it on ps2 though, by far the best as far as batting goes, and a super game once edited thats for sure

I dont know, with Sam's exe whe ball would swing. I certainly prefer it to the insane amount of movement you get with C07.

Reinstalled it, batting is so much fun. Haven't got around to bowling yet though.

Anyone up for updating Australia's kit?

If there are still enough people playing the game I'll make some world cup kits.

Good onya.

Just noting, if anyone wanted to change the menu song like me, the file is 'Number_3304.ogg'.

Hi people! I just installed my own copy
of the game. I didn't have enough money
to buy the 07 version so I bought this one.
I like it very much and I'm able to max out
the graphic setting etc. Nice.

I've trouble getting some of patches though;
some of the sticky 'beginner FAQ' thread's links
are broken. Is there another place where to get
these patches? Also I would be interested to get
the newest possible roster lists for the teams.
What's the most recent update?

Cheers :-)

That would be great Kev would go hand in hand with an updated world cup roster, and overlay, oh yes! my cds itching to be installed again :D

After the disappointment of Brian Lara 2007 (and Cricket 07) it's time to go back to Cricket 04!

I love playing test matches on this game! Good sound effects throughout the day, variable weather and good batting.

I suggest EA and Codemasters take a trip down memory lane and remember what a half decent cricket game looks like. :boxing

(OK the bowling is BAD but at least the autoplay gives you a good target to chase)

Oh and the bat pack is awesome. I'm in love with cricket again! :hpraise

I had Cricket 2004 on playstation and traded it in because of that line-up bug and because when ever I autoplayed it froze!

Now Im buying Cricket 04 again for PC!!

Is there anyone who can make some rosters???

Ive read the "advice for newbies" thread and it recommends the Ravi AI patch. Is the general consesnus that this AI patch is the best.

If not, what patch is the best?

Thanks

Wow this is a great idea for a thread. Thanks Gas you have got me itching to reinstall the game. Now I have to find the CD and reinstall it, but I need do it tomorrow morning, since it is 12:22 AM here.
This has been the only game that I have uninstalled only because of my frustration to score unrealistically high scores and take 3-4 wickets every over. Now as I think of it, that actually was better than scoring 30 runs every over and taking 4 wickets every over.

@Kev: It would be simply genius if you could make the updated kits. We would all be grateful. Thanks.
