Since the discussion is pertinent to this, thought of quoting the posts here.

How is Pakistan sanctioning a T20 tournament in an officially governed part of a terrain any more audacious than India having a team from an officially governed part of a terrain in the Ranji Trophy?

Okay, it's not Pakistan Occupied Kashmir OR Indian Occupied Kashmir. India calls it the former and Pakistan calls it the latter, the official/neutral terms are Pakistan-administered Kashmir and Indian-administered Kashmir because as much as it may annoy some people to comprehend this, those areas of the disputed land are (in the current state) officially, lawfully, juridically governed by their respective governments.

Per the history of Kashmir, the King acceded the land to India. Now, the declaration and his signed copies are there for everyone to see, aren't they? So, Kashmir in the Ranji makes sense. Pakistan is staking claim on a piece of land that they have acquired by military means. Furthermore, why not call it POKPL?

The point wasn't 'Kashmir belongs to India' or 'Kashmir belongs to Pakistan', the point was to point out the fact that regardless of what the means of acquiring the land were, the land in its current state belongs to both Pakistan and India. That's why, Pakistan calling it Kashmir Premier League is as legal as India having a team in the Ranji Trophy.

Also,
Furthermore, why not call it POKPL?
...literally no one calls it POK except for braindead-brainwashed Indians. Likewise, no one calls it IOK on this side of the border either except for braindead-brainwashed Pakistanis.

This is literally the last post I'll post about this topic, because I know where we're headed if we aren't already there...

I think this decision is of higher authorities to take.

We as mere citizens should not put our heads scratching into it. For it will only create turmoil in order to prove our side of the story right. However true or false it might be based on past facts.

Better to focus on the game than the garbage politicians have introduced so that the people favour them in their ruling.

Again this isn't a legal issue. It's a political issue. And the only people benefiting from this are respective governments of both the nations.

Coming to the cricketing boards. To be brutally honest, BCCI standalone doesn't care about KPL, its name, it's location and it's authenticity. But BCCI officials are obligated to do what they are doing due to political influence of few people (without which it will lose out on what they currently have).

Ofcourse common layman Indian or a Pakistani won't understand the actual reality here, and fall prey to what they want people to do. Fight. Fight between each other so they they can lead with that agenda.

But we are smart peeps here. So we know the reality. As simple as that.

The BCCI led by Jay Shah is definitely under obligation from Jay's father to put a spanner in the works. I still feel, this controversy could have been averted by renaming the league as something else.

Believe the BCCI's take on this KPL has actually benefitted the league in terms of marketing, more than anything else.
