SRH's victory against CSK did a world of good to their confidence level. This was the game where Gujarat were meant to take the top spot but SRH ensured that going to top wasn't going to be easy for them.

I didn't expect SRH to chase this sort of a target especially when they had the likes of Lockie, Shami & Rashid Khan in their line-up. Perhaps it also tells that Gujarat Titans are better off bowling first?

Pretty good win by SRH that too against a really good bowling attack. If Pooran and Markram stay consistent, think SRH could challenge the other teams for at least a fourth spot.

Umran is exciting but need to take him off next game to collect himself again. Needs to be managed properly, ironic I know since it's SRH but hoping Steyn can give him some sort of direction going forward.

Somehow I don't see CSK losing 5 in a row. Agents Faf and Hazlewood to the rescue :p

Doubt it! News has just come in that Deepak Chahar is ruled out for the entire IPL. Should seriously deflate CSK and could make them lose interest in this season altogether! And Jadeja has just lost his 4th toss in 5 games.

I won't be surprised if we make it 0-5 tonight! And I am seriously not attempting a reverse jinx here!

Looks like CSK are placing so much faith in Mukesh Chaudhary, who has frankly been below average! Losing Deepak Chahar for the whole season, this is the best time to try out Rajvardhan Hangargekar when its almost getting to the "what have we got to lose" situation. I heard Ruturaj helped give Mukesh a boost to him being included in the XI. Hope he could do the same for his other Maharashtra teammate Hangargekar!

IPL performance shouldn't validate national team selection unless the player has performed well in domestic circuit too.

Uthappa and Dube on a rampage!! They've squashed predictions that this is a 150 odd pitch. 180 is surely needed considering CSK bowling.

IPL performance shouldn't validate national team selection unless the player has performed well in domestic circuit too.

Ruturaj was smashing it in the Vijay Hazare! He's just bogged down by many things, including his wrist injury, his constant benching in Indian team, the 2nd Covid infection, etc. Not excuses (except for that last one) and he needs to toughen up!

CSK's take on their dismal performance seems to be on the lines of what they had 2 years ago. Fleming's interview hinged on the fact that their team is more suited to playing in Chennai. Honestly, for a team like CSK, pinning the blame on such a frivolous reason sounds ridiculous.

When you select a team, you take into consideration all the factors. The home advantage, yes, but Chennai isn't located in a parallel universe tbh.

Today's game, CSK will make it 0-5 and they honestly deserve it.

1. Dhoni announced his captaincy decision days before the IPL began. This meant they went in the current season with a jaded mentality belonging to the ex-captain.

2. The new captain seems to have been simply thrust into the position. There seems to have been no thought given, in terms of who the eventual successor to MSD should have been.

3. Auction strategy was flawed from the beginning. Packing the team with alumni of CSK has backfired. The team doesnt add anything new and has been playing in a manner similar to what their ex-captain advocated.

4. Bowling attack is weak. Shelling out over the top amount for Chahar was uncalled for. There's simply no one to back him up.

5. Hangargekar? Why spoil a youngster's career by simply carrying him around the team. Make him play for God's sake instead of your golden oldies. I had sensed this the moment they signed him and my heart really goes out to the youngster for landing a franchise known for nkt giving chances.
