Junaid Khan and Afridi gotta be in. Sarfraz as opener instead of Nasir, he started opening in 2014. And of course Misbah and Ajmal gotta be there.
Edit : just realised this is a joke

If i had to put together a serious Pakistan ODI lineup from 2014…

Sarfraz (wk)
Hafeez
Haris
Fawad
Misbah (ideally he and Haris would swap)
Maqsood (no good options at 6)
Afridi
Gul
Wahab
Ajmal
Junaid

You would be shocked that I wasn't joking.

I just looked at the squad and picked the XI. And that does look to be a decent XI. Btw I won't select most of the players from that squad if I had to make a 15.

Then look at the preliminary squad too :p

Players like Misbah, Afridi, Junaid weren't allowed as they were prominent nationals at the time and this tournament was practically for B teams. Much like CWG'22, where Pakistan only has their main players because their bench strength is shot.

But hey, at least I made it to the finals with that squad?

EDIT: Here's everyone who missed out from the preliminary squad:-

:bat: Khurram Manzoor
:bat: Sharjeel Khan
:bat: Imran Nazir
:bat: Imran Farhat
:bat: Azeem Ghumman - Right-arm legbreak
:ar: Babar Azam - Right-arm offbreak
:bat: Asad Shafiq
:bat: Umar Amin
:bat: Haris Sohail
:bat: Usman Salahuddin
:ar: Hammad Azam
:ar: Sohail Tanvir
:bwl: Rahat Ali
:bwl: Ehsan Adil
:bwl: Mohammad Sami
:ar: Yasir Arafat
:bwl: Asad Ali
:ar: Mohammad Talha
:bwl: Abdur Rehman

This is 2014, so apart from maybe Babar, there is literally no one worth picking (IMHO). Maybe Haris Sohail, but Haris Sohail had questionable stats in 2014. He really came into his own a year later at the World Cup.

I do think that Bhatti was the worst choice, but I didn't have anything better either tbf. Talha was an eyesore in the Asia Cup in 2014, and we all saw how well Rahat Ali and Ehsan Adil fared at the 2015 WC.
