Two battling hundreds but only one will taste victory in the most thrilling encounter of the season.
Jaffna were rocked early with a poor start, losing 2 scalps in just the first over.
Daryl Mitchell was a man on a mission today and made his bat talk.
93 run partnership with Madushka followed by berserk batting with Heinrich Klaasen.
Tamil United did try controlling the damage but Mitchell batted long and got his team to a match-winning score.
United had small stands to start with skipper Virat Kohli doing the heavylifting in vintage fashion.
Jaffna were least bothered until Rashid Khan joined the crease. A mammoth 166 run partnership saw Kohli reaching a century.
Rashid Khan also reached his fifty. An easy win was now looking like a lost cause before Hemantha broke the stand.
Daryl Mitchell, then produced a brilliant display of fielding to cap his excellent day.
Sudeera and Rashid kept things under control but McMullen got Dilum to nick one off with 13 runs still remaining.
Siraj hung around and stole singles but he was dismissed for 8 in the 49th over.
Final over and Mohamed Shiraz (do not get confused) was given the ball. Rashid took the single off the first delivery.
Madushanka had to just get the ball over the infield but he failed and gave a dolly to the returning Sadeera Samarawickrama for a painful 1 run loss.

Holy moly, but great match. I always felt from the start Rashid is right man for no 7 instead of Dunith Wellalage, as the latter lack experience and not more big slogger than Rashid, but Dunith Wellalage at no 8 is way too good, but he costed us the match that too with a run out
