That unbeaten 70-run 8th wicket stand for Basnahira has put the match at an even position for both the teams.

Basnahira started on the wrong foot with the early wicket of Avishka.
Kusal Perera played well for 69 and had 50-run partnerships with Kamindu and Chandimal.

Wanindu Hasaranga was the stand-out performer from both the sides. His legspin dominated the middle-overs,

Sunrisers Kandy are the 2024 Emerald Cricket League champions!

The champions were carried by their otherworldly bowling for most of the tournament.
Wanindu Hasaranga and Mohammed Shami picked 21 and 18 wickets respectively at an average under 23.
Lahiru Kumara also picked 18 scalps but at a "higher" average of 24.

Isuru Udana and Hardik Pandya shared the bowling duties well. Ali Khan was solid in his 3 games.
Pandya also made a telling contribution with the bat, scoring 349 runs at 43.63 with 4 fifties.

Glenn Phillips didn't made huge impact with the ball but he played a crucial role as a batter.
Kusal Mendis topped the batting charts of his team with 446 runs, which included one 100 and two 50s.
Niroshan Dickwella was the 2nd highest run-scorer of his side with a solitary but world-class 100.
Chamindu Wickramasinghe was a surprise package, scoring 2 hundreds, being plucked out of anonymity.

Bhanuka Rajapaksa struggled in the beginning but after begin picked again, he's been just clutch.
And even today, he proved it with a sensational knock, bringing the trophy home for his side.
