Division 1:
The Rose Bowl:
Hampshire Vs Lancashire:

The sky looks very, very gray here in Southampton today with a mild temperature comming from the breeze thats blowing through, the clouds are high and there is a chance of rain here today, it wont interupt play to much though as it shouldnt last that long.

Lancashire:

1) A Flintoff
2) M Loye
3) S Law
4) M Chilton
5) A Swann
6) C Hooper
7) G Chapple
8) D Cork
9) W Hegg (c,wk)
10) Sajid Mahmood
11) J Anderson

Hampshire:

1) D Kenway
2) J Crawly
3) S Katich
4) B Taylor
5) W Kendall
6) N Pothas
7) Mascerenhas
8) S Udal
9) C Vaas
10) C Tremlett
11) A Mullally

The pitch here is very green, it has a lot of grass growing through and whoever wins the toss most definately choose to bowl, early use of thsi pitch is crucial as it will slowlty become more playable, at the moment though it a total nightmare, the ball will be seaming around everywhere and bounce will be unpredictable, the two opening bowlers will be medium and fast past seamers, swing bowlers will also benefit from the conditions and if they can bowl a consistant line and lenght then wickets will tumble, the batting team could find themselves bowled out for under the 50 mark if there not carefull.

Division 1:
The Rose Bowl:
Hampshire Vs Lancashire:

Warren Hegg of Lancashire won the toos and he decided to field.

End Of Innings:
Hampshire:
29 All Out after 12.4 overs.

C Tremlett: Not Out on 2

Jimmy Anderson really used the pitch to his advantage today as he gets career best stats that will take some beating. He took his 1st wicket with his 3rd ball after being hit for 2 twice he had Kenway caught by Chapple in the slips for just 4.

He struck again in his next over, dismissing Katich for 2 as he played straight at a delivery which moved away and was caught by the same man in the slips. His new ball partner Dominic Cork went up for a big LBW call but the Umpire turned it down and after close inspection he was right.

Anderson collects his 3rd by enticing a false shot, Taylor is caught by Glen Chapple in the slips for 2. He dismisses Kenning in the same over for 0 after just two balls, he edged to a diving Hegg who took the catch in front of 1st slip.

He then proceeded to see of the new batsmen next ball for a golden duck, Pothas edges to Chapple who collects comfotably in the slips but Jimmy throws away a hatrick by bowling a No Ball, he still picks up his 5 for 16, fantastic bowling.

It really was the Jimmy Anderson show as he bags another with a huge smile on his face and he has every reason, this one nipped back between bat and bad to uproot leg stump, Mascerenhas has to go for 0. Udal follows on 0 as Hegg collects another thin edge from Anderson, this time with a one handed dive in front of second slip.

Sajid Mahmood is brought into the attack for Dominic Cork and has an immediate impact, taking a wicket on his 2nd ball, Vass defended his leg stump, unfortunately for him the ball smashed into middle and leg, he goes for 0.

Anderson takes the final two wickets in what was a fanastic spell of bowling , Crawly edges to Hegg on 17, he stayed in quite long considering and Mullally goes first ball after a perfect yorker from the slowerball for 0.

Lancashire Bowling Stats:

J Anderson: 9/19 from 6.4 overs with 1 maiden.
D Cork: 0/8 from 5 overs with 2 maidens.
Sajid Mahmood: 1/2 from 1 over with 0 maidens.
