Pick a test XI of your favourite players

Having 5 Kiwis and not having Chris Cairns is a crime!! Plus you need a better wicket-keeper!!

Pick a test XI of your favourite players

Best Test XI since 1990.. Openers: Sehwag and Hayden (Graeme Smith just misses out and so does Gambhir who is a little fresh) Middle Order: Lara, Tendulkar, Kallis/Ponting/Dravid/Sangakkara/Inzamam/Yousuf/S.Waugh/VVS Laxman (If I were to choose one of these, I'd go with Inzamam) All-Rounder...

    Cricket Database Software

Hello, I'm looking out for a good cricket database software(preferably free but if paid, at least with a good trial period of not less than 10 days) I mainly want to deal with ODIs and T20s but if it also has Test Matches, then its great. I know I can use the Statsguru at Cricinfo but that...

Yank model: Challenger to the Duckworth/Lewis mode

I just wanted a feedback as to what people over here think about the performance of the model over the other models... Even if you don't know the technical part, people can still tell us if Yank's targets are better than D/L and VJD or if they're worse...So our objective is to get a feedback...

Yank model: Challenger to the Duckworth/Lewis mode

For your information, commentators do not use D/L sheets anymore because the current D/L model requires a use of the computer...They used sheets way back until I think 2004 when D/L had its standard version... I think you'll find the computation part of the Yank Model and the D/L model very...

Yank model: Challenger to the Duckworth/Lewis mode

About yesterday's match which was the 2nd ODI in the series between SL and Aus: SL 161/2 in 34 overs. Match reduced to 45 overs. SL 213/3 in 41.1 overs. Innings ends and Aus get only 39 overs to bat. 39 over Target Yank Method :240 D/L Method :244 VJD Method :231 Aus 139/5...

Yank model: Challenger to the Duckworth/Lewis mode

I think we've focused a little to much on the Real Match Simulation...we'd love to have feedback on the general performance of the Yank Model as against D/L model and VJD model both in ODIs and especially also in T20..

Yank model: Challenger to the Duckworth/Lewis mode

They all said: 'Interesting will check it out!'.... But Srinivas Bhogle is in constant touch with us and he is guiding us really well...This is perhaps because he is the only person who I think would be able to understand the method pretty well and quickly too because he's done a lot of...

Yank model: Challenger to the Duckworth/Lewis mode

Thanks for your feedback, Yes you're correct, we haven't put up absolute totals. The thing we're trying to prove with this simulation is that D/L almost always gives low projected scores which means its acceleration level for T20 is very very low as compared to what happens in an actual game...

Yank model: Challenger to the Duckworth/Lewis mode

Our patenting process isn't complete so we cannot put up the details on technical part. However, it is foolish to assume that we'd do so much work on our web-site and lots of research if we were plucking numbers from anywhere. :)

Yank model: Challenger to the Duckworth/Lewis mode

Check out our website at Yank's Model and then browse through all the sections @Ollie_H - Yes we'll be simulating more tournaments in the near future... World Cup 2011 for sure.. D/L does release updates about every 2 years but it still fails to understand the acceleration level in shorter...

Yank model: Challenger to the Duckworth/Lewis mode

Hello everyone, I and a friend of mine have developed a mathematical cricket model known as 'Yank Model' and have challenged the Duckworth/Lewis method. You can check our website at: Yank's Model We've covered plenty of examples in T20 and ODIs in our Comparative Analysis. We've also...
