I've definitely had success with bowling Sliders. If you get a low-bouncing pitch you can bowl these as short as possible and they end up being very low by the time they reach the batter...often causing problems. Yorker length are good too. Generally I try to hit the off-stump with whatever I'm...
Yes, I do still like the game and particularly career mode. Batting, in particular, is a lot of fun. It is just that I can also see so many things that could be tweaked to make it a better all-round experience. Some of the problems stem from the fact that Career Mode is sort of pasted onto the...
I also play as a leg-spin allrounder in Career mode. There have been some nice updates in this version but, overall, there are so many aspects that really haven't been thought through to make career mode as good as it could be. The mix of ability points and skill points (or whatever the right...
The improved fielding (better throwing) is excellent as is the AI running between wickets tweak...harder to bowl maidens but some hope of a run-out. In my first post-patch match (Career Mode) I saw, for the first time in over 64 hours of playing, an AI run out. I saw two in fact..one was fine...
I think the bigger issue with that image is that the big screens are displaying the view from ProCam. How is that even possible? The default for big screens, when ProCam is in use, should be the scorecard.
I posted a support ticket about this on BA's site. I saw that there was some attempt to fix this in the latest patch but I am away from my PC for another week or so, so have no idea whether this has been properly resolved yet.
I find that the Steam controller is ideal for this and other Big Ant cricket games. Because it is very configurable, you can set it up just the way you want it. I have a different config for batting to the one I use for bowling and have mapped one of the paddle switches to flip between the two...
Has anyone managed to go into any training option from career mode? For me, nets and batting game fail in a very odd way and bowling games crash the program.
As someone who is waiting for the Steam release and a follower of Durham, I greatly appreciate your efforts, here. Really looking forward to playing county cricket once the game is released. Thanks to all who are contributing.
In my experiments (only in the PC demo since the Steam release is still some time off), I found that the backfoot glance down to fine leg was difficult to pull off unless the ball is pitched very short. The animation and shot itself is excellent but it would be nice if we could have more control...
I am a bit hesitant to comment as I don't have the game yet (waiting on, but grateful for, the eventual Steam release) but this game does look like a major step up from previous releases in pretty much every respect. One minor thing I noticed in your video that I think is also part of tweaking...
I do think that it is a pity that retro cricket wasn't more deeply considered this time round. The inclusion of a scenario editor is a fantastic addition but, surely, the first thing that would occur to anyone would be to recreate classic match positions from earlier years. It was a great...
I think the key is the line and height. I probably need to experiment more but, as I said, I had to set the bowling marker to be quite short before the leg glance shot would connect off the back foot. I wouldn't necessarily advocate needing to use an additional trigger or button to select a leg...
@TerryAlderman let me know if this is what you're looking for. There are a couple of leg glances off the backfoot (one near the start and one at the end). They are difficult to play but I might also need to play with the configuration of the Steam Controller I'm using as I've just used defaults...
I've just given this a go...it is tough to do...but I've managed a couple I think...you be the judge. I'll post the video once I've cut out down to size a bit. The leg glance off the front foot is a lot easier and looks good. (Off topic: I've been to Pity Me! Know the area quite well)
I live in the UK...weather is very predictable...and, although it can be changeable, it is not changeable to this extent. I just hope there isn't some random number generator setting cloud cover, rain and temperature on a daily basis.
It does look good. A couple of observations, though. First, the temperatures across 4 days look random rather than representative of actual weather. I am really hoping that we get proper weather conditions in this release as it has been missing from the series so far...but these random...
