I am also having the exact same issue as blockerdave after the latest update. Also tried playing online after a while and game froze after 1 over of my batting on 3 occasions. I saved the games but it gave an error to continue the saved online match.

Just verified my game through steam,I think the bugs in online game are as a result of people using unapdated pirated version, I play with my friend through steam and mostly its smooth

I can confirm that if other person quit the game it calculates at the end. I was winning and someone disconnected on me and I won by 20 runs. Anyone who is not getting the option might not have the latest patch.
