As far as I know, Cricket Captain is not distributed on CDs or any other physical media. If you bought a CD, I suspect it is not a legal copy of the game. You can get a proper license here: https://childishthings.com/shop/cricket-captain-2021.html Then the editor will work correctly.

I think you mentioned above that the historic teams can only take part in 1 vs. 1 "tournaments". It could be more interesting to have a proper league, or knockout tournament, with a much larger number of classic teams all competing. I don't think it would be difficult to edit historical squads...

I figured out a nice (fast) way of doing this, but the problem would be when new Cricket Captain patches are released, the player database changes and then the old text files wouldn't work any more. It would be possible to automatically update the text files after each Cricket Captain update...

Is this only happening in an older savegame? If so, then would it be possible to send that savegame file to me (either in a private message, or attached on the forum)? You should be able to find your savegame file in this folder: C:\Users\[User Name]\AppData\Roaming\Childish Things\Cricket...

Something is going wrong with the Scout. It says it only loaded 21 players (but it should be more than 7500). If you close the editor and just run the Scout, does it load the players correctly?

I will need more information if you want any help. Are you running the latest versions of both the editor and Cricket Captain?

After hotfix 6 and now even after patch 21.01, I have rebooted my PC twice and the old Editor and Scout are still both working for me. Please check one more time. If it still isn't working, please send me a savegame file and I'll see if I can figure out the problem.

It seems to be working for me, even with a new save. But these hotfixes are weird... maybe, I need to reboot my system for it to take effect.
