Madman...........I agree with Tennis Elbow 2013...........I'm a subscriber to it (with Mana Games), one of the main reasons I joined was for the regular updates, where they constantly spend time updating the engine behind it, and not updating the 'hype'.....I've been a member since the 2011...
Oi oi!!!! Careful Matty, don't mention anything that would enhance the game and make it fully believeable as a SIMULATION.............i.e. the ball being hit off of the bat in anything BUT a straight line, these guys will choke on their glass of pimms..............shhhhhhhhh!!!!! keep quiet...
yeah great "straight line physics", really pleasing that you and the coders find these to be realistic physics.............not a single sign of any bending in flight of these shots, in fact any shots.............but lets not patch these major flaws and concentrate on ''run rates'' eh guys?
no chance Cooks, cos it aint in the game.. TJ Hooky and his crew seem happy with straight line physics, good on em I say!!
----------
all 'ball' sports games in real life (those that are outdoors anyway!) would have the ball changing direction in flight..........if you look through...
Its not in the game thats why Cooks. I know its not the most important thing for a lot of people (similar with sidespin on shots.......but imagine the outcry if spin bowling didnt show the ball spinning with sidespin!!).
Its good that we all look for different things in a game though, and...
Fair enough re: 2: Sidespin, understandable if internal testing made it deemed not worth leaving it in the game. MLB 14 The Show has it in, so hopefully in future it can be possible, its all down to AI fielders being timed or directed to read that ball direction I guess.
As for 1: Wind, I...
BigAntStudios, we all do mate.......
The fact all other sports sims these days have proper ball movement in 100% of their product says it all (except this game of course but it is a first effort to be fair), and if the coders have indeed left ALL the shots to fly perfectly straight in the air...
but those same Human players have to judge a ball bowled to them that is spinning left right and centre, spin is all part of the game and affects the actual shots played in real life.
As I said once the ball is in the air from the bat, having it slightly move in flight to the left or right...
The ball, off the bat, to curve in flight left or right depending on the amount of spin departed on the ball once it leaves the bat, currently it ALWAYS flies dead straight, which is very poor considering the rest of the game (i.e. the bowling and deflections off of the pad or the players body)...
Its not great ball physics is it when as soon as the ball leaves the bat (for EVERY kind of shot), the ball, whilst airbourne, ALWAYS flies on a straight path, until it bounces where it sometimes changes direction slightly.
However, when the ball hits the pad or the batsmans body, it shows...
what i am looking for in the game is shots that are hit and then swerve in the air, similar to the natural ballspin thats prevalent in MLB The Show '14. So far, I have only seen batsmen hit shots that 'turn' once hit if they are low shots that deviate in the path tbey are taking once the ball...
