You know I just wonder... Even if 3-4 people from their side play the game for like 2 hrs before releasing the patch online, I'm 120% sure we won't be seeing such issues. The only thing that I can think of is, they are under some stress- maybe they have a pre decided schedule that they need to...
I feel excited about tomorrow's patch! Right now there's so many things that need to get better- so, lots to look forward to and feel anxious about! :)
I have had bowled dismissals- soft green surfaces with reduced AI striker timing and run rate. But I completely agree with you- bowling is not fun because it doesn't feel like you're in control no matter what you do. It's like everything is pre decided by the AI and you're just playing your role...
[Steam- Latest patch, was batting on a custom difficulty between Hard and Hardest, custom physics- max pace, extra swing+ revs+drift+flight, pitch bounce at 45, AI legend, AI bowl quality 100]
Some observations/ opinions:
Batting:
1. Straight drives work :yes- looks like now we can finally...
Oh okay. Yeah, I'm actually talking about the point at which batsman hits the ball. I'm sure that's not smooth for you either? Like, don't you feel you're not able to see the batsman executing the shot properly- as in, as smoothly as you were in cricket 19?
Edit- okay I got it, you mean I can...
Thanks for the response!
Batting (bowling)/ running (fielding) cam:
Broadcast 1/ Broadcast 3
Broadcast 2/Broadcast 3
Fixed far/ Broadcast 3
I can definitely say that these combos have the jerk at the point the batter hits the ball, but that was not the case in cricket 19- it feels very smooth...
@MattW thanks so much for discussing these topics with us on the forum!
Are the camera angles being looked at/ planned to be looked at in near future? If we use any "front of the batsman camera angle" such as broadcast/ fixed far/ fixed close, there is a jerk in the visual at the point when...
Yeah mate, pace bowlers field like anything- it's near to impossible to score straight down the ground off them. If you notice, the pacers don't have any follow through either. They just release the ball and stand there, ready to field as if they were spinners!
AI bowling and field setting is probably a long term issue, I would say- in addition to the above, I have played a couple of matches where I found that the AI didn't have any fielder to prevent me from scoring through fine sweep/ fine reverse sweep against spinners. I kept playing the same...
I think... With so many people talking about the batting issues, BAS will most definitely be aware. Probably it's a matter of prioritising what needs to be fixed first.
For example if your Career mode crashes everytime you are accepted into national team, then there's a strong case that that's...
[Latest patch on Steam]
Experienced the same thing, prior to the latest patch I think the AI run rate slider was doing its job but no more. I was playing a test match as England against Australia. What I noticed was, after you take a few wickets they do slow down slightly.
Their runrate was...
This is what Ross had mentioned on twitter yesterday:
""
We've been doing them every two days on average, such a velocity means we will introduce more issues for sure but the hope is that the good outweighs the bad. We have patches tomorrow, then the will be less often. ATM we are on the 12th...
[Latest patch on Steam]
Just batted for about an hour in Ashes test match as England,
AI fielding does look all right:
1. they dropped one catch out of 3 or 4, (the one dropped was actually quite a tough chance to be fair- running backwards, very little time to react).
2. Ground fielding...
