How come this patch is not available on PS4? I thought psn patches are available for both PS4 and PS5 at the same time but doesn't seem so. Looks like there are two separate games altogether on PS4 and PS5, and absolutely no clarity when various platforms (XBox, PS4, PS5) will be patched.
Couldn't agree more. Fix the fielding & field sets, or give the ability for users to disable pre-built fields, and add leg side shot (especially behind square on the leg side), and we're all set!
Now we're back to the same old cycle of fixing things to bring the game to the same level as the...
I'm struggling with hitting through that area, and as you mention it could very well be a function of batsman style or specific attributes. If that's the case, Big Ant need to make the shot much more accessible. Drive through covers is pretty much a staple shot, and should be able to be played...
Are you using aggressive shot, i.e. with triggers? Coz I'm on PS4 and am unable to hit a regular/standard drive (i.e. no triggers/modifiers) in the direction you showed.
The shot you shared hits the ball to the Point. We're saying it's not possible at the moment to hit the ball through the arc between Cover fielder and Point. See the OP and the comments in the following thread and compare the wagon wheels posted there...
It is mind boggling given the same developer released Cricket 19 DLC just a few months before Cricket 22. Or maybe different teams worked on Cricket 19 DLC and Cricket 22, and if that's the case Big Ant better get the same folks who worked on Cricket 19 DLC on Cricket 22.
My initial expectation was for the game to build on Cricket 19 but at the moment I'll be more than happy if they can get it to a point where all the shots from Cricket 19 are playable. Hoping Big Ant do so else not going to bother with the game.
Quite disappointing that you can't play one of the most basic cricketing shot (cover drive) in the game. As you folks mentioned almost all attempts at cover driving go to Cover or Point fielder - no matter line & length of the delivery. The only gap you can hit is between mid off & cover fielder...
@MattW , please do look into this as others are seeing the same issue. Have submitted the bug to Big Ant and there/'s another one posted by another user (@Arctic_Wolf ) on Bug Reporting thread...
As @Harigoks mentioned, it works fine against spinners but not pacers. You can't drive the ball in the arc between Cover fielder and Point against pacers. Looks like it's linked to how you couldn't play forward defensive shot against pacers on the off side, but could do that against spinners...
Appreciate the help @Harigoks. I'm on PS4 and re-tested after the latest patch which hit PS4 yesterday and was still having difficulties playing through the covers against pacers. I can ping extra-cover region, Cover fielder, and the Point & Backward-point fielder but anything in the arc between...
I would say wait and watch. Big Ant are trying to push out patches, and will continue to do so in the near term. So wait and see how it turns out as at the moment Cricket 19 is a better game than Cricket 22.
I understand why devs/publishers don't open up the game - have mentioned it an earlier post. But IMO that's the only way I see cricket gaming progress. We've had enough kicks at the can and have seen multiple developers/publishers have a go at it and we're still struggling.
Whether that happens...
I can think of 3 and I'm sure there would be more...
1. Providing support for the game would be an issue, i.e. someone downloads an "extension" and the game stops working or an issue creeps in. Where do you draw the line between what Big Ant supports and what they don't. And an even bigger...
I would say front foot & back foot. But if you want to be pedantic I could throw up any random number and justify it. As an example I could say "fall back on your ass trying to evade a bouncer", or "running away to square leg" are legitimate leaves too :D
