He was progressing very nicely under the eye of Allan Donald. He was bowling quick and swinging the ball late, since coming back from injury though he's been very, very average. He's probably become too roundarm also, lost some pace and the ball is swinging from the hand. Too much 20/20 cricket.
Probably not very well if he's going to keep pressing onto the front foot just as the bowler delivers the ball. He'll wear a few if the pitch has any kind of pace in it.
It saying that WAG. He gave his $500 to any club of his choice to my club :D
Situation. New Zealand could've easily just have sent Mills or Southee up the order too, both of them have probably scored more runs than Oram over the past three years.
Really not liking that McCullum might continue to bat at three though, he shouldn't even be opening with the abject...
Never say never my friend :p
I think it may have been War who messaged me a few months back about the possibility of playing Vettori at six and going in with five bowlers with New Zealand struggling to take 20 wickets. I think my words were somewhere along the lines of "only if Doug Bracewell...
Yeah, James Anderson hasn't played a test match in the subcontinent since 2008, a tad harsh to use that against him now where he wasn't half the bowler he is now.
I wouldn't be so sure about that, whoever comes into the test team between Flynn and Broom will bat at six IMO, neither of the two have a good enough defensive technique to bat at three - especially Flynn. Him playing at three for New Zealand was the major reason in his test downfall as he'd...
He's John Mitchell's son, played age group cricket for ND up to Under 17's before moving to WA with his family six years ago (as a 14 year old). He played for the Australian academy last season as well as the WA second XI, he also played for ND in the Under 23 tournament. He's a Kiwi and wants...
Indeed, haha. War hooked me up with a stream so I managed to listen to the game for most of the night. Fuller was the quickest bowler they've seen this season apparently. Planning on doing the same thing tonight if Gloucestershire bat first, it'll be a nice first up challenge with Steven Finn...
Ethan O'Reilly has only this season finally broken into franchise cricket, at 25 years of age. To say he's a better bowler then Tsotosbe is a pretty massive call imo when O'Reilly's really only managed to play amatuer cricket for most of his career.
I do tend to agree with you with your...
Surprised none of the New Zealand boys mentioned Todd Astle. He's only 24 but he started his first class career for Canterbury as an opening batsmen, not very successfully however as he only averaged 20 odd. He reappeared for Canterbury halfway through last season and since then has picked up 55...

11 wickets @ 20 in South Africa and 8 wickets @ 34 in England, ain't bad going reallly.
Oh, I realise that. It's just like your McGrath's and Hadlee's performing well into their 30's being a rare occurrence a young 20 year old coming in and performing straight away is pretty rare itself. It just annoys me no end when people write them off as international failures without realising...
The fascinating thing about Richard Hadlee's peak was that it was done all in his 30's. From 1982 a then 30 year old Hadlee picked up 236 wickets in 42 matches between then and 1988 at just 18.6.
It's one of the reasons I always scoff at people who write bowlers off in their early 20's.
