Good old Hamilton is going to turn on its finest weather for the test - chance of rain for the first 4 days should be fine for the last day though. :laugh
McKay has hurt his foot so Arnel has been called up to replace him.
While I was looking forward to see McKay get a go Arnel has probably deserved a go long before this so hopefully he can take this chance and add to this nice and rare depth of players we are starting to develop.
Guess its time to switch my support to the Knights for the rest of the one day comp, lesser of the four evils.
Auckland - Ponces
Canterbury - Still bitter from the years of dominance
Central - Ewen Thompson
It is a difficult one but once that India tour rolls around we will be well into preparations for the world cup we probably only have 5 ODI's against India and then 5 against Pakistan to get ready for it and NZC will be using those games to make sure we have the best team available I don't see...
Franklin only had a bruised heel so I don't think he will be out for that long.
Butler needs to go hes not a great death bowler leaks far to many runs and doesn't enough enough with the ball to be used up front he really needs to get his pace back up if he wants to be effective.
Most of the...
That is even worse. Ok it might work if Franklin was in the top six to bowl some overs but we have enough problems bowling teams out anyway to only play four bowlers is just stupid even if it is only Bangladesh.
Sounds about right but I don't like it one bit the guy has been an opener or number three all his career he should stay at three and let Broom make his debut at five.
To much experimenting for my liking I would just keep it simple but with them already saying Guptill is going to move down the order that isn't going to be the case. From the squad picked I would of gone with:
1: McIntosh
2: Watling
3: Guptill
4: Taylor
5: Broom
6: Vettori
7: McCullum...
In the press release they say Guptill is going down the order so they will probably go for something like this:
3: Broom
4: Taylor
5: Guptill
6: Vettori
Interesting to see Ingram there that does surprise me. Seems they went for Broom over Franklin in Ryders absence which is fair enough Broom has been in great form. The rest was basicly as expected.
Just did a check on Franklin's ODI batting stats since he has come back from injury hes averaging 42.50 at a strike rate of 81.73. Granted a couple of not outs helped that but its far to early to say he can't do the job at five.
The test squad against Bangladesh has been announced without him...
The bowler I am most concerned with is Tait for whatever reason our guys don't deal with express pace all that well. I just hope hes limited to playing the T20's only or better yet gets injured before the tour starts. :p
I reckon a few of these other aussie bowlers are over hyped and will be...
