Well since Franklin has come back after injury as more of a batsman one would argue that hes had very few chances. Flynn and Broom who have both done less in the same time period have been given far more goes at it.
Fair enough batting Broom and maybe Vettori ahead of Franklin but I consider it...
Yea but with our fully fit top 5 around do you think he would get a go anyway?
Hes really in a position where hes a finisher or not in the team at all.
Vettori confirms that Franklin will be batting at 5 in the ODI series above himself, Broom and Oram. You do have to feel for Broom who is not really a finisher but on the other hand being a huge fan of Franklin this is a great chance for him to create a place in the team as a batsman...
I am not saying drop Elliott right this second but of the current lot he will be the one to make room for Williamson when the time is right. Hes 31 next month and once players get to that 33 or 34 mark they tend to disappear after a dip in form. The greats do tend to go for longer but I can't...
I reckon Elliott will make room for him at some stage. Hes been doing so well recently but you don't see the same sort of class as you do from a Taylor, Ryder or Guptill hes also much older than the others and probably only has a few decent seasons left in him anyway. I do think Elliott has hit...
Williamson is certainly class I watched him get 70 odd in Hamilton last year played shots all around the ground. I don't see him playing before the 50 over world cup though I think the Blackcaps are trying the last of the new boys out right now to try and get a decont pool of players ready...
Ingram was probably in line to get a test call up anyway might as well just fast forward them both through as quick as possible.
Ari added 0 Minutes and 38 Seconds later...
Haha so true.
Australia are going to work him out so fast and give him huge problems I feel. I almost don't want him to score big against Bangladesh because its only going to delay the inevitable.
The guy who is on the radio says its the same pitch, plenty of pace and bounce still but no real demons in it. Bond should be a handful on that sort of pitch can't wait to see how he goes.
