True but from a selector point of view they are not going to select a new player who is out of form because if he doesn't come off then they are going to look stupid at least if they pick someone who was in form they can say ok he might not be cut out for international cricket.
Had he...
If he had done well in the HRV cup I would be agreeing with you but hes been rubbish for the most part. I am sure he will get his chance at some stage just needs to have a good run of form before selection.
I am convinced Mark Greatbatch is useless and with Vettori looking after his mates our team selections may look odd for awhile yet. Every time Greatbatch has been on the radio and hes been asked a question like "Why was McIntosh picked with such a poor technique?" he can never answer it instead...
The guy who was on about an hour ago made a great point - nobody in New Zealand cricket is ever accountable for anything. Selectors keep making the same mistakes like selecting the most random players and keeping out of form ones for far to long. Our top players with IPL contracts are only...
Radio Sport has gone crazy with people calling up basicly saying our selectors should be shot. :laugh
Most are saying Ingram, McKay and Hopkins (as a batsman) shouldn't be there. While Styris, Vincent have been unlucky.
Also some hate thrown towards Oram which is always welcome.
New Zealand Cricket - BLACKCAPS squad named for Bangladesh T20 and ODI series
NZ squads announced for the T20 and ODI's.
McKay and Ingram the surprise picks although you could sort of sense the latter might get a go in the near future.
McKay has shocked me a bit I mentioned he had some pace...
To be honest this is the only part of the IPL that interests me - when the franchises have to try and build a team.
Couldn't care less about the tournament itself.
Looks like Otago might get done on run rates in the end they will need to win big and hope the other game goes their way.
Auckland should be in barring a bad loss and the other spot will be sorted out in the CD vs ND game.
He is averaging 19 in the HRV cup this year though I remember when he was averaging 70 odd with the ball for a while so hes improved his T20 bowling greatly.
I would play Oram as a bowler besides last nights effort hes been good with the ball. Southee and Bond would be the other two seamers.
oops forgot about Tuffey so in that case Oram can piss off.
I reckon Neal Parlane might be a surprise call up for the Bangladesh T20 the guy has had a stunning series and has probably jumped ahead of Stewart in the process, his career stats are good as well.
