I still play AC 17 and still think that it holds up pretty well for a 6 year old game. Batting animations are pretty good ( although I don't think I've seen a human batter play a back foot leg glance) and if you are into stats the stats seem to update properly. Some of the AI fielding can be odd...
Durham CCC fan here. Not a Sunderland fan but my uncle took me to see Sunderland v Manchester United at Roker Park circa 1968. 3 -3 it finished. What a game! The "Roker Roar" when the Mackems scored! Amazing.
Watching the NZ v Wales game. Didn't really know what to expect. But I've been bowled over with the rugby skills and national passion that is on display. Amazing how people with varying disabilities can all have a great game of rugger.
I still play old cricket games but on PS2 rather than computer. I play EA Cricket 2004/2005 and 2007 and Brian Lara Cricket. The batting on the 2005 game is devilishly difficult (on the console version). I've spent many hours trying to fathom out the shot timings in that game alone! My fave of...
Still got my PS2 console and still enjoy playing games that may be considered now as 'retro'. I play EA Cricket 2004/2005 and 2007 and Brian Lara Cricket on a regular basis. All still decent cricket games even now in the 2020's.
Still playing this game on PS2. And have just realised (after around 18 years) that the swing/seam/spin ball bowling movement thing works in the opposite way as I would have 'expected' it to. RHBowler to RHBatter.....move dot to the left of the ball seam....ball seams/swings inwards rather than...
I'm interested in this game. Is it the one that comes with the flash drive? Sounds a bit complicated to play. Do I need to be a mathematician to play it?
Delighted to see that you have Rob Yates in your squad. A talented young feller....and he should be an even better cricketer ( batsman) in the years to come. One to watch out for and to follow his progress.
Cracking in depth and articulate review of your thoughts/musings of the game. I'm steering clear of it for now but will monitor the situation regarding future patch(es).
Was going to post a Grandstand v World of Sport as a new post....but found this. Basically....for me anyway as a kid....you watched what was on television because it was what dad wanted to watch.
So dad was predominantly a Grandstand viewer (especially for footie/rugby/The Grand National and...
Yeah......like what I'm seeing (and hearing) in that video clip. Will be an even better viewing experience when fans are allowed back into sporting venues in numbers like they were in pre Covid times. I sometimes like watching the reaction of fans while their fave grapplers are in the ring.
I'm a grappling fan. More from the era of British wrestling from the 60's to 90's but followed WWE and WWF. AEW is new to me...but I'm always open to be educated or debate. Tell me more matey.
And thinking (for about the last 5 years) is it time to go back to the 5 Nations format of the 4 UK teams and France. Italy, although game triers, just don't cut it at this level. They have improved greatly but is it time for them to relinquish their 6 Nation status? Maybe swap them for Georgia?
