So all of you with severe (Read:ridiculous) performance issue while playing demo,I have two suggestions:

A:> Use 3D Analyzer

www.tommti-systems.com/main-Dateien/files.html

In the tool,check the following options :

Force Z-Buffer
Disable Lighting
Disable 2 sided stencil
Force anisotropic filtering

Remove Stuttering -> Performance Mode

Z-Buffer -> Force 24-bit Z-Buffer (without stencil)

Ok agreed that the graphics would look crap,but the demo becomes much more playable with those settings in use.

B:> Use Riva-Tuner :

www.guru3d.com/rivatuner/

This is one of the [if the not the] best tweaking utilities for your graphic card.Besides an obvious feature like over-clocking, it also provides various advanced options.It also allows tweaking your drivers.Try messing with the options,over-clock your GPU and try to extract maximum performance from your card!

The performance wont increase/improve drastically..But well, i could myself feel the difference..Besides, both of the tools being freewares , theres hardly anything to lose ! Just give it a try guys !

Cheers !!

I find the game runs a lot smoother if you play in Windowed view

Are these tools designed for Nvidia and ATi cards only because they really do not make much difference to my gameplay experience.

Riva Tuner was primarily designed to work with nVidia cards. I don't know about that other stuff. I personally would try and avoid using third-party software to tweak your graphics settings unlesss you a) really know what you're doing or b) are comfortable with the risks involved.

is there anything you can do to make the game work with a Nvidia Geforce MX

Awesome Find:

I just tried the game (demo) with xspeed which i know is a third-party software but is a best one available in the market and has been used by many people in the planetcricket community itself (remember good old C2004 days :) )

I own a GeForce FX5200 and game performed and looked bad on my system (as i was forced to use 640X480 No AA/AF)

But owing to this master-piece,i was able to run at 800X600 (NO AA though) or 640X480 (2X AA) and believe me all the choppiness is gone plus the graphics looks loads better !

Highly recommended by Pat! Give a shot to the trial version , put the speed at 10x or something and run the game! Enjoy!!

Ooops! forgot to post the link:

www.foredu.com/speed_up/

[The version i am referring to is xpeed.net V2.0]

Pat,
The reason for which I desperately use third party softwares witout any knowledge of them is because of the frustration of not owning a BLIC 2007 supporting graphics card and therefore, not comprehending the level of enjoyment that was to be incorporated with the experience. Thus, I was drawn to employ many unknown softwares on my PC, and as anybody would anticipate, theere was little or no improvement of performance, neither of my PC nor of BLIC 2007. The most improvement I noticed was from a program called Game Accelerator, but even thwarted that as it was slowing down the overall performance of my PC, therefore would not recommend it to others. So it was simply ordinary when the latest software you suggested didn't help my performance, rather crashed the game and forced me to uninstall it within 5 minutes of downloading it. It may be the fact that I am using an unsupported graphics card, but unfortunately, all of the softwares proved ineffective to transform my Brian Lara 2007 expreince to a satisfying one for once.

The point i was trying to make is that this software is different from other "performance-enhancing" softwares because it directly works with the timing cycles as opposed to the other softwares that implement simple solutions like clearing RAM etc.. I tried it on EA Sports Cricket 2007 and it crashed..But works well with BLIC 2007 demo..You could have tried reducing the speed to 2x or 1.5x and tested! Anyways,now that u have already uninstalled it,hard luck mate ! And probably it doesnt run coz your card is INDEED unsupported unlike mine (FX5200)!
