The two losers from the first round of matches in Group F go head to head. Both teams had their net run rates smashed by their opposition and the loser will go home.

IF we can get our team selection right, we should win this one. We went in against AUSTRALIA with 3 freaking front line bowlers. I hate this stupid Harbhajan opening the bowling crap, if you want a spinner to do that job I think Yusuf would be the best bet.

But I would drop him. Drop Ravi Jadeja too, he isn't offering ANYTHING to the team that we don't have already. Raina, Yuvraj, etc all are just as good with the ball, his slot would be better utilized by a specialist.

I would play 3 seamers also. I HATE this whole Umesh Yadav thing, once again an Indian fast bowler selected JUST because of pace. He doesn't have a line/length at all and averaged over 30 in the IPL, just imagine how much stick he's going to go for in an international game. I would play Vinay, I have faith in him to deliver.
Rohit Sharma batted well so I will regretfully give him a spot. :facepalm

Also - this is Yuvraj Singh's last chance for me. He better do something really, really special (or just not mess up for once)

1. Gautam Gambhir
2. Murali Vijay
3. Suresh Raina
4. Yuvraj Singh
5. MS Dhoni
6. Rohit Sharma
7. Dinesh Karthik
8. Harbhajan Singh
9. Zaheer Khan <---Please, just let Zak open the bowling!!!
10. Vinay Kumar
10. Ashish Nehra

5th bowling option can be shared by Yuvraj/Raina/Rohit

Good team there, Rohit. Dhoni cant do anything else but put some faith in Vinay Kumar and hope that he clicks. He wont be worser than what Jadeja bowled against Australia. I also endorse Karthik for Yusuf. On this Barbados pitch, Karthik is a better bet than Yusuf as a batsman. We anyway have Yuvraj and Raina as the part timers (Yuvraj got imp wickets against Australia though Yusuf had the better economy rate).

Umesh Yadav will not make it in time for this game (his visa got delayed due to the weekend holiday). Might as well keep him on hold and see the result of tomorrow's game before deciding if he has to be sent in or not.:D Hope we can bat first tomorrow. Sides that have batted first at this ground in this tournament have won almost all games (only England won chasing when they played Pakistan in their Super Eight match).

I agree with that team. Karthik is a good finisher so he should be used as one. Yusuf is only good when he is given a chance to bat higher up the order. And since that is not gonna happen no point in having him in the team. Gambhir needs to click seriously. I still can't believe Uttapa wasn't picked considering he is good at playing the short balls and he played on bangalore wickets which were pretty bouncy <_<

Agree with Ravi being dropped. Wasn't it just last year when I was complaining how he shouldn't be anywhere near the T20 team? He's good for ODIs where he's got more time to apply himself, but he was pathetic in the previous game and didn't react well, either (kept dropping the ball halfway down the pitch--but then everyone else did).

I think it's unfair to level charges against Yuvi, though. He's looked in decent nick in this tournament and was the only batsman to be outdone by a really good ball against Australia. I don't think we bowled a single yorker in the Aussie innings. Nannes bowled a ripper of a delivery.

India easily, WI middle order is just so weak. I think Fletcher should open and Chanders should move down the order to strengthen the middle order with Pollard. Also, Jerome Taylor is coming back from injury so he won't be at his best if he plays and Ravi Rampaul is terrible.

When does this match start? The TV schedules all show different timings. The promo on ESPN showed the start timing as 10:15pm IST while all the other TV guides show the start time to be 7pm IST.

India to easily beat WI. No contest. Only way it will be different -obviously- is if Mr Gayle has a day out, which no-one can predict but WI win when he fires.

It was the West Indies team last year who first demonstrated how pathetic our batsmen are against quick, short bowling. I believe Fidel Edwards picked up 2/3 top-order wickets with bouncers.

We're likely to get more of the same from Roach and Taylor. What remains to be seen is if the Windies pacers can keep it as on target as Nannes/Tait or whether they are less accurate. Also, the Indian batsmen will have to swallow their egos and put away the pull shot.
