As expected, William George Charles makes his return to the England team after missing the last two ODI series which certainly ruffled a few feathers up and down the country with players, fans and administrators alike. However, much beloved squad member Trevor Singh makes his return to the England set up for the first time since the 2002 Knockout trophy following the back of fine performances domestically and in the warm up matches on the training camp. Also, there is a maiden call up in the forms of James Freshwater and Julian Henman with no place for the likes of Carl Stone, Harold Davidson or Graham Stanton who had been rumoured to be in close contention for making the squad. All eyes will be on the trio of WGC, Zachary Wilson and Richard Head for big performances if England are to go deep into the tournament along with the supporting cast of Peter Mills and Alex Vixen but the team comes into it with high hopes and great team spirit

PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA NATIONAL CRICKET TEAM FOR THE 2003 WCC CRICKET WORLD CUP

China has kept all 15 participants in their successful ASCON Asia Cup run and have included three new players into their side. Shen Jun returns to the side after being omitted for Lei Yu while both Song Meng and Zhu Zhenkang both earn maiden callups to the national side. Among the big exclusions Fu Bojing is a shock to have missed out on selection however it is believed that Fu Bojing was going to announce his retirement at the currently delayed Chinese Cricket Association Grand Assembly and that he had turned down an offer for one more ride with the national team as a squad player. Mao Changming also missed the cut however with Shao Zhenkang's play in the Asia Cup this isn't all that surprising in all honesty.

Being horrible for so long in ODIs really tanked our global ranking and gave us the hardest group in the comp. Genuinely any 2 of those 5 can go through

Staying with the same 15 we've been selecting for so long. Abdulrehman Ather and Hanzallah Majid both performed in the recent tour to Russia, so they're selected. Farhan Khan has impressed in the domestic circuit with the ball in all 3 formats.
