I think this was unnecessarily brought up by Lalit Modi. An investment firm will have its money across verticals and that is a given. Furthermore, CVC having a stake in a betting firm in England (where it is legal) shouldnt attract so much controversy. By that logic, Punjab ,Rajasthan and Chennai should be banned for life

Its unfortunate the BCCI does not have a performance guarantee system. Else we would have seen the likes of RCB, Punjab and RR getting kicked out from the league.

For Adani to come in, they simply have to pick up stake in one of the existing 10 franchisees OR wait it out for 3/4 years more- cause I am 100% sure the board will put up more cities for auction.

Its very tricky to implement such a system. Companies own franchises in the league to make profits. If you kick them out after a certain period due to performance, investors won't show interest in owning teams. This model is purely based on business and that's why quite a few teams continue to keep smiling even while their team is performing bad across many years. For e.g. RCB must be making lots of money despite its inability to win a trophy in the history of IPL.
