Ashes Cricket General Discussion

I spent £50 on an early release. I hope I get my moneys worth soon. You are not doing me a favour, you offer me a product and I purchase in good faith. If I buy a car I'm not going to be gracious if its in full working order, its to be expected.

i'm sad for you if you can't enjoy this, the most generous support of any BA game which was factored into the cost...

I'm surprised as well, it does seem so unreasonable of some people really. Big Ant have really bent over backward to give us a game that plays out as good as a cricketing video game can already and soon we'll have even more, so soon after release. I feel a little embarrassed that I bought it for only $99, cheap at twice that!

I feel sorry for you guys... I paid AU$52.99 on the 23rd November, a week after release (that's about GBP30 - I used to lose that much on a night out in London).

For DBC 17, I think I paid AU$89 about 3 months after release. I know which one was in better shape at time of purchase and has received better support (assuming this patch delivers). Admittedly, neither of them are the pinnacle of customer service and QA, but I do feel that by self-publishing BA have been able to cut out the middle man and maintained a reasonable support offering at a lower or equal price.

Has it taken 6 months for this patch to come out? Yes.
Could you honestly say the game has been unplayable in the meantime? No. Flawed, perhaps, but certainly not unplayable.

No online option is removed with the new build. Ain't that wonderful. Who gives a damme about online anyway. You dont buy video games becouse you like interacting with other people :facepalm

What's to feel sorry for? As you say the game's not unplayable at all. Surely not flawed either? There are so many different kinds of challenges. I've managed to hit a ton off less than 6 overs in every month since it came out, whatever difficulty level or length of game I've been on.

Anyhow, why would someone come onto these pages with a negative view of how things have gone? Besides it being frowned upon, it's the height of being ungrateful!

Haha fair enough but I think you missed my point which was you paid $99 for the game in the first place, especially after all the criticism for DBC 17.

I don't subscribe to the no-negativity of BA viewpoint. I subscribe to a view of 'what could I have done differently to avoid being in this situation'. I felt burnt by DBC 17, said I would never pay full price for a BA game in the future, didn't and I'm not p*ssed off like many of you are. And given the current state of Ashes Crciket, there is no way in hell I would pay full price for a BA title in the future. The ONLY way they will change my view on that is by delivering a quality title on day 1 with a future release.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me is how I look at it.[DOUBLEPOST=1523414313][/DOUBLEPOST]
