Story Auckland Aces World Tour - Bangladeshi Tour Complete!!!

Would you consider doing full scorecards?

If I did they wouldn't be graphical ones, rather just text based ones.
I could just do a full scorecard in the same style I done the short scoreboard, with all the batsman's scores, and all the bowlers figures.
However the MVP table does give you a pretty good idea on how everyone went, for example you can see that McIntosh failed.

great match there for the aces, as usual styris did his thing and won us the match. although im a bit surprised we won against a fairly strong sl side.

Good update there, just need some graphics, but I think you know it.

Great win there for the Aces. They won against a strong side Sri Lanka.
Nice writing dude.

You could have provided full scorecard.

Great Short Writing. KIU Callum

As I said in the introduction:
"There won't be any in game graphics, as they are very time consuming and I want to get through as many games as possible."

My Thoughts

First Innings

It was a great start for us as we again rattled the Sri Lankan top and middle order, but Jayawardene stayed strong and along with Vaas and Kulasekara led a strong Sri Lankan revival. Jayawardene was especially harsh hitting 17 boundaries on his way to an outstanding 116, and bowling all-rounder Nuwan Kulasekara chipped in with a run a ball 45. Bar Mills our bowlers were generally poor, Martin, Tuffey and Styris were all too expensive, and we just couldn't break into their three specialist bowlers early enough.

Second Innings

273 was also going to be huge target, and we struggled from the outset as Guptill and McIntosh were both sent back early. The two Sri Lankan spinners came on, and strangled Rob Nicol as he stone walled 79 balls for only 31 runs. Vincent and Styris both fought very well, but with nothing from any of our other batsmen we fell a disappointing 48 runs short. Their bowlers were just too experienced, as we only managed to take one of them at over 4.5 runs an over. Even age wasn't a problem for Vaas and Murali, as they bowled 20 overs between them taking four wickets for 78 runs.

Post Match

After a massive upset in our five day match against Sri Lanka, this defeat brought is back down to earth. Our bowlers have a lot to work on before our next match, and more of our batsmen need to start standing up. Man of the match was awarded to centurion Mahela Jayawardene, as he scored over half the amount of runs we scored altogether.

great batting from vincent and styris but it wasn't enough. you should probably put some graphics in there, or a screenshot of the scorecard or something.

Just as I clicked "Submit Reply", I remembered I was going to put some out of game graphics in there, such as a picture of the man of the match etc.

Styris and Vincent really did good but wasn't enough.
BTW, still a nice and good performance by Aces.

Good performance by the Aces but a pity they lost.
Vincent was great but nobody could match Mahela

Nice write up there. Vincent performed well but McIntosh and Guptill were disappointing.

Scrap McIntosh, and get someone who moves his feet before he hits the ball, not after!

Seriously though, nice update. IMO this is working fine without graphics, but that may because I know all the players and the topic interests me.

KUTGW!

Rob Nicol " 31 off 79 balls " led to a big failure of Auckland/New Zealand!

Toss

Auckland Aces won the toss and chose to bat first.

My Thoughts

First Innings

Bar the toss we struggled from the outset, as Guptill went back in the first over. Anaru Kitchen fought hard for his 47, but the runs were few and far between as the Sri Lankan bowlers got the better of him. It was the same story for both Vincent and Nicol, as they struggled to score at a run every two balls. Even with wickets in hand we failed to apply any pressure in the last ten overs, grinding our way to just over 160. Yet again Vaas was spot on with the ball, only going at two runs an over.

Second Innings

We got the start we wanted, making the Sri Lankan batsmen work hard for their runs on a slow pitch. Mills, Martin and Tuffey done a good job upfront, but Jayawardene and Dilshan got stuck into our three lesser bowlers as their seven overs costed more than Mills and Tuffey's 16 overs. Hopkins when back to Mills who picked up a couple of consolation wickets, as Sri Lanka cruised to an easy victory.

Post Match

There's not really much to say, apart from we were well beaten by a much better side. Their bowlers gave us very few freebies, while our bowlers bowled very few good deliveries. I'm thinking there will be a few changes for the final match of our Sri Lankan tour.

Kyle Mills bowled brilliantly but sadly from an Aces perspective the support just wasn't there.
