South Africa with Upper Hand (ENG 4/168 off 30 Overs)
engsafie3.jpg

South Africa have taken 3 more valuable wickets to give them the upper hand in the Champions Trophy Opener here at Johanesburg. The main wicket went to Saltries whcih was Andrew Flintoff for 48. Other two wickets going to Gibbsrules.

As we take a look at the wickets and highlights of the session.

The first wickets in this 10 over section was DJ Ager. Clean bowled by Gibbsrules right on Middle stump. Gibbsrules taking his first ODI Wicket.

Next wicket was a big one by Saltries who had been bowling very expensive. Took his first International wicket on Debut today and was very special as it was Flintoff. Just a big edge back to the keeper.

Finally the other wicket is Geriant Jones. Jones also clean bowled by Gibbsrules who is playing fantastic on his debut aswell. Becomes part of hte we have 2 wickets on debut club joining aus5892.

To the scorecards

Taking a look at the batting. You can see most of the runs so far been scored by Flintoff with some other support by Mierosoft and Collingwood.

To the bowling scorecard. The wickets going to Aus5892, Gibbsrules, Shaun pollock and Saltries.

So the summary

Haven't posted in here for a while - it was just moving too fast for me! - so good to see the ICC CT finally underway.
I'm sure that the attitude and professionalism of our squad will get us the result we deserve (first round exit). At least that means more time on the beach though...

Nice bowling so far by the Saffas. 5 out of the 7 dissmissed batsmen have gotten starts but have failed to go on with it.

England starting to Fight back. Eng: 8/212 (40 Overs)

Lower order batsmen M477YP4RK and James Andesron have put together a strong partnership to keep England scoring runs. Some good, solid batting by M477YP4RK who is currently on 32*. James Anderson staying in with support scoring 11. England now have only 2 wickets left in hand, with Outlaw91 hoping to make a big partnership on PCC Debut.

To the highlights for the10 session....

It did look like Anderson was starting to get very confirdent but unfortunatly got caught right infront of the stumps with that delivery.|

Now if we look at the Projected Totals Chart (Current RR 5.3 RPO)

So to the cards after 40 overs
40overscorecardvy2.jpg

England starting to get their act together with the bat so it will be interesting to see what happens in the last 10 overs which will be crucial for both sides and what their role is.

To the bowling. The main damage done by Pollock, aus5892 and Gibbsrules who is bowling with a mix of attack and defence whilst taking wickets and keeping it tight.

So the summary
Flintoff 48.......................................Mierosfot 28
M477YP4RK 32* .............................. Collingwood 24

Pollock 3/34 (7)................................ aus5892 2/35 (6)
Gibbsrules 2/15 (6)............................ Saltires 1/41 (6)

Theres going to be a change in the commentary, Mark Nicholas and with him his good friend from Australia Tony Grieg.

Chatting with the Commentarors. With Mark Nicholas and Tony Greig

TG: Well what do you think Mark. England going to make at leas 260?
MN: Well if they stick to their current run rate and donent get bowled out before the end of the innings they will make around 260-270.
TG: Now can M477YP4RK make a half century on debut or even race to that 100 in the last 10 overs?
MN: Well the way hes playing, definatly. There is no quesiton about it.
TG: Well lets get back to the cricket with Kallis continuing.

Excellent presentation :clap Last 10 Overs is going to be very crucial now!

South Africa doing well. Don't want to let the tail wag, it could cost South Africa.

Hey Lee: Could I sign-up to play for the West Indies?

Sure, it would be great to have another player (so I have an excuse to drop Colin). As Lee said, form is here: http://www.planetcricket.org/forums/showpost.php?p=553309&postcount=19

And Colin, nice to see my ever increasing optimism has spread throughout the squad. At this rate, we'll have a mixed cricket team because all the girls will follow us on. Hopefully they'd be pretty good at catching the dropped balls (ok that was poor )

The rest of the English Innings update will be posted in a few hours so stay tuned.

Any tips on what you reckon England will get?

shd be around 30 runs max added i feel as 8 wickets down and only one set batsman at the crease.. so 20-30 Runs(not more than that:D) are likely to be added!

Com'on Africa get two wickets in two balls ;)
