Australia will fulfill their commitment to tour Pakistan by touring there twice in two years, a joint statement from both boards said. The two legs will straddle the return series hosted by Australia in late 2009.

As expected, the five one-dayers and a Twenty20 will be played in the first leg, and this will be next year following Australia's commitments in South Africa. Australia will then return to Pakistan in August 2010 to play three Tests, with final dates and venues to be agreed depending on each nation's Future Tours Program (FTP) obligations. It was their FTP obligations which forced the tour to be split into two sections.

"We have reached an agreement on the dates with Australia," Shafqat Naghmi, the PCB's chief operating officer, said. "We do not want to announce the final programme just yet, but I can confirm that they will carry out their commitments before Pakistan visits next year. The dates will be announced in the next couple of days." Pakistan are currently due to travel to Australia in November and December 2009.

I'm not surprised at your cynicism here. We have cancelled the last two tours and I believe both times it was a wrong choice. It seems as though most teams tour there quite happily.

As far as I'm concerned better safe than sorry. It's only cricket, and it isn't worth risking lives if there's a safety concern there, which there is. Hopefully things will have settled down by the time this tour comes around.

I thing its better now.
We have long time to go and things will get settle down by that time.
At last Cricket is a mind game and you need peace to play it.:p
