Australia hit back


Thanks to Matthew Hayden and Michael Hussey, Australia have hit back well in this Test Match at Adelaide. The 1st 2 wickets went early for Australia. Langer and Ponting we're the 2 men that were dismissed. Hayden and Hussey needed to put on a partnership so Australia could get back into this test match.

And a parternship is what they put on. Matthew Hayden was in rare form. He was smashing the boundaries all over the place. Mike Hussey was supporting Hayden up the other end, but Hayden was his dominant self this match and was knocking around the ball like he wanted. After the good start from Harmison and Hoggard, it was Hayden and Hussey brining back Australia into this match.

It didn't matter where the England bowlers were bowling the ball, Matty Hayden would pick it off and smash it to the boundary. 4 boundaries already to Hayden in his Innings. It wasn't just off the bat either, bad wicket keeping has shown by Geriat Jones, which saw 4 byes go past him on 2 occasions. More runs to the batting team, and more frustration to the England bowlers and Captain.

After a few good overs from the Australian batsmen, Mike Hussey was caught infront of the stumps by Stephen Harmison. Billy Bowden was the officing umpire at the stage, and the England fielders called for a LBW decision. Billy had a long look at the decision, but didn't move. Shook his head and said "not out". Hussey survives, as the ball looked to be going on to miss off stump with the extra bounce in the pitch. Harmison was confident, but Bowden wouldn't have a bar of it. Hussey escapes.

Just 2 balls after the LBW decision, Hussey gave Harmison something else to scream and shout about. This time it wasn't a good shout, it was a shout in anger and desperation. Hussey smacked Harmison down the ground, and it was such a good shot, it went over the rope for 6.
The 1st 6 in the Innings, and the Captain "Michael Vaughan" wasn't very impressed. Had his arms crossed and stared down Harmison. Wouldn't be suprised if Harmison is out of thre atttack soon.

England brining Australia back down to earth.



Australia are 73/2 at this current stage in the 1st Innings of this Test Match here in Adelaide. England we're playing well, picking up 2 early wickets of the Australian's. Thanks to Matthew Hayden and Mike Hussey they pitched back the Run Rate and started to get some runs on the board. They were quick runs, so Vaughan decided to bring in Spinner Ashley Giles to see if he can stop the scores from coming quickly.

With Hussey and Hayden playing some good shots, and putting on a reasonable partnership, Giles needed to do something along with the quick up the other end. Giles was troubling both the left handers, coming around the wicket. It was difficult to play the left handed spinner, and with saying that Giles picked up the wicket of Hussey. A aggresive field was set to Hussey by Michael Vaughan. But the bowling from Giles was enough when he bowled Hussey out. Clean bowled him, and the partnership was broken. Hussey goes for 16.

Michael Hussey has been dismissed, and after loooking to be playing well with shots, and being a good team with Hayden up the other end, he finds himself out, and back to the pavillion. Hussey goes for 16, he would of loved to continue with that, Australia are now 73/3.

Michael Clarke is the new batsmen to the crease. The young batsmen will be looking to post a good score against this team. Has been in reasonable form in this Test Series, but will be looking to get some runs on the board for his team as his team is 3 down for 73.

But with the wicket of Hussey made Matthew Hayden a little bit more angry and so Hayden was playing better with the wicket of Hussey. He was smashing the ball around the place. Playing some wonderful shots. He was becoming very comfrotable out in the middle of the ground. He was playing some shots of the back foot, and it was all of his front foot shots that shined for Hayden. He was in good form, and the England bowlers will need to change their approach to Hayden.

Giles was troubling both Hayden and Hussey just a few overs ago, but Hayden has been fired up, and is now playing Giles with ease. Giles was bowling some good line and length, but Hayden has been playing a fine Innings. Just a little touch of the ball, and it sailed behind the keeper and it went down the ground for 4. A superb stroke, just sums up the day for Hayden so far.

Hayden was looking good out in the middle now, he was playing both spin and quick bowling with ease. Although their was one ball from Ashley Giles that mattered. A good line from the ball, and it pitched just outside the stump. With the rough in the pitch, the ball span, and Hayden went to trap the ball. Hayden wasn't quick enough, and the ball trapped Hayden instead. A huge LBW shout from Giles and the keeper. Bucknor was the umpire on the spot, and he had no doubt in that being out, it was plum in the end.

So the good start to the Innings from Hayden has come to an end. Making 36, it was a exciting Innings from the top ordered batsmen. He was just suprised by the spin in the ball, thanks to the rough in the pitch. Giles hit the spot perfectly, and Hayden will be dissapointed that he coouldn't continue his great start to the Innings.

Australia are now 88/4 and with Michael Clarke (new to the crease) and now the big hitting Andrew Symonds at the crease, England will be looking to break this parntership, and take out Gilchrist, and then they should be able to get the tail end out quickly, and have Australia all out before 200.
