Symonds be-coming the Key

So now with Andrew Symonds becoming the key player for Australia in this 1st Innings. Michael Vaughan decided to bring back his most reliable fast bowler, in Stephen Harmison. Harmison is bought back into the attack after a short while, because Symonds is starting to get on top, and is starting to reach his half century rather quickly.

Symonds was playing well out in the middle, he is playing a good Innings, and when Australia were looking in trouble, Symonds has come in and in a way saved them from a horrible defeat. And even with the bowling changes made by England Captain Michael Vaughan, wasn't enough to stop this power house of a man getting runs. Harmison was smashed around the park, and the 5th ball of the over, Symonds saw the oppourtunity, and let one rip, right out of the ground, it was a mammoth hit, and some kid walking past the ground will be getting a free cricket ball today.

So with that, just 2 overs later, Michael Vaughan decides to bring the classy spinner, Ashley Giles back into the attack. Giles was good in his 1st spell,, wasn't giving away many runs, and he also took 2 important wickets of Matthew Hayden and Michael Hussey, too of Australia's top scorers.

Even the Vice Captain of the England team, Freddy Flintoff was finding it tough against these 2 Australian Batsmen. Shane Warne and Andrew Symonds seem to be brining Australia right back into the top gear. Warne played a wonderful shot, he turned the bat right at the last second. Saw the gap between 1st and 3rd slip, and saw the chance to get some runs. But it was hit so well, that Warne didn't only just get a couple of runs, he got a boundary, and Australia are looking in control here.

Freddy Can't seem to cut it

Andrew Symonds then shortly made his half century. A stellar Innings so far from the right handed batsmen. 50 from 64 balls, 9 fours and 1 six involved in that Innings. One of the best Innings i have seen Symonds play in a long time. When Australia were looking in a lot of trpuble, there is always someone that can turn the Innings around, and it's Andrew Symond's day today. A wonderful Half Century, but he will now buckle down and reach for the tone.

Shane Warne took a leaf out of Symond's book. Ashley Giles was bowling, and Warney seized the oppourtunity to knock the ball around a bit. This one was wrongly pitched to Warne. Something even a tail ender like Warne can smash around the ground. But Warney took it a little bit further then just a long the ground, how about we say along the air, for a massive 6. Things are all looking in shape for Australia at the moment. Both players don't seem to be slowing down.
And the England bowlers don't seem to be interested or capable in taking wickets.

This is a solid partnership being developed by Warney and Roy. Hopefully the English bowlers can break it soon. Great work mate and good luck in SOTM :)
