Batting - Leaves / Ducks?

Scored 190 on amateur difficulty with opening batsman in career mode yesterday, but along the way in the innings I had a few bouncers that I would have liked to have ducked out of the way of - so I pressed the "A" button on the Xbox controller, and the batsman plays a weird looking leave, very often this results in connecting with the ball and lifting it over the keeper! Is it possible to play a duck, and if so, how?

...not sure if it's been patched out but clicking in the right thumbstick used to be a duck/leave? I can't remember....
