Ive just got the game this morning, and I bowled first and enjoyed the experience, took no wickets with the special balls, has anyone? Well i went to bat only needing 60 runs needed in 10 overs with Australia and against Kent, i played some ground strokes for zero runs as the fielders were electric fast and couldnt squeeze anything past themm. So i went for the big shot but I hit it sky high and was caught. I couldnt get anything on the floor and this has been th theme going through all of my games. I got to58 in a test match, playing thee flick to the fine leg/ square leg region pretty much all of the time. Even then my batsmens confidence did not move up at alkl. Has this happened with anyone else. HOW DO I IMPROVE? HELP ME?

u need to hit a 6 to get lot of confdent i remember when u where sachin one 6 u will end up 6 6s in 6 balls

Same thing's happened to me mate, my spider looks like it's only got one leg (all shots going to to fine leg). Try a few more cover drives and mid wicket shots as they can help but are a bit riskier.

Well ive slowly started to get the hang of the game, and chased 76 in 10 overs to win on the last ball with a six from Kallis. Its getting better for me, and i really do like the game, however my latest spurt of good play may well come with the change to easy settings.

I'm also starting to get the hang of it, on easy, i've had the game about a week. basically i decided to ignore al the hints to not bat too aggresively at the start of the innings, and patinetly build up confidence, because i don't think it works.

I went into the practice nets, and decided to six hit everything, to see what i should and shouldn't go after. I came to the conclusion that i would go after anything short or anything full of length, but defend the good length deliviries and the yorkers. This seems to work, at least so far. I am New Zealand against Pakistan in 50 over friendly, after about 7 overs i am 50odd without loss.

I have hit hooks for 6 and 4, suare drives and cover drives over the top for 4, and straight drives and off drives over the top for 4. Both batters are quite high in confidence now, and i am able to hit hard along the floor, and after 15 overs, this will become crucial. Hope this helps.

YEah i think ive got it, i got England to 470 a/o against Bangladesh in a test match. Strauss getting 157 before holing out. However each new batsman can score freely wearly on with no mid on, just straight drive bang 4 runs.

Well i got the game yesterday and have found batting difficult too. None of the ground shots go for 4. In one days, the 3 fielders on the leg side make it impossible to score any runs. When i hit a six hit shot it goes to the fielders as they seem to move like supersonic trains. Im really not enjoying it on ps2 as the graphics are also not as realistic as on PC. It looks more like cricket 2004 on PS2 version.
Im very unhappy with it as i have waited long for this game, bought it the first day it came Here.

Why would you want a game to be so easy for??? Games are meant to be a challenge and takes time to overcome and master. Don't excpect games to be easy and just smash the ball around the park. First people complain about cricket 2004 being easy and now saying 2005 is difficult.

Im glad its hard because then i feel like ive succeeded when i get a good score and win.

Has anyone else had the problem where the computer seems to overrule the shot you select and choose a different shot that the players play? When i press n X shot sometimes and the player plays a backfoot TRIANGLE shot. More often than not he gets out because of it. Anyone else has this problem?

You are playing on the Easy Level i assume. In the Easy Level the AI automatically adjusts the front foot or back foot shots. I suggest you shift to the Medium Difficulty.

Its great the batting is hard. I like the challenge of it. I'm definitely going to try the aggressive batting instead of just playing defensive shots until the confidence is up.

It just seems everytime I try to hit a four or six, Im caught. But sounds like I should give it another go.
