It's been a while - I've been struggling with some IRL stuff - but I'm back. One small issue - I found all of my documents for where I was up to... except the schedule.

I also think I've mostly fixed the slow scoring. Some tweaking still to come tho.

I've also abandoned the statistics spreadsheet simply because there wasn't a viable method to enter data for it without taking all of my free time in doing so. So instead, let's look at Week 5's matches for the Western Division!

Portland vs San Francisco
Preview: POR are at the bottom of the division, while SF are on top, but this is still a fairly even matchup.
1658400267339.png
Josh Inglis was tied down early by the opening tandem of Bhuvi Kumar and Kasun Rajitha. But the later bowlers had a worse time of things, with the 11 overs bowled by Hasaranga, Gleeson and Pretorius going at roughly 9.5 RPO - thanks to an electric partnership between Dawid Malan and Glenn Maxwell.
1658400335755.png
After Chris Lynn was quickly run out in an athletic fielding effort from Travis Head at cover, Martin Guptill asserted his authority on the game - his 63 put San Fran into an almost un-losable position, which Lewis Gregory brought home. A third bad day in a row for Dale Steyn...
MOTM: Martin Guptill

Las Vegas vs San Diego
Preview: Vegas' bowling and Chris Gayle led them to a win over San Fran last time out, and to keep pace with the Dolphins, they need more from the rest of their batting card. They face the 2-and-2 San Diego team who won a crazy yet comfortable game against LA in Week 4.
Lineup changes: After Ishan Kishan's near choke last week, Vegas move Ross Taylor to his #3 spot.
1658400627775.png
A slowish start was surprisingly enlightened by a run-out. When Aiden Markram was dismissed, it led to a partnership that rattled along at close to ten an over for most of the inning between Joe Clarke and Moises Henriques. Sam Curran was expensive but got Henriques and Ben Cutting in the final over.
1658400812046.png
Vegas again had middle order issues - Jason Behrendorff cracked the game open in his final over after bowling a priorly economical spell, and Peter Siddle then tore the rest of the order to shreds. San Diego did have some concerns, with Shakib bowling a horrible spell, but they moved to a positive win-loss ration.
MOTM: Peter Siddle

Seattle vs Los Angeles
Preview: LA lost the aforementioned game against SD last week, their third loss of four, while Seattle levelled their record by dominating Portland thanks to Joe Burns, Naseem Shah and Sandeep Lamichhane.
Lineup Changes: One for each team. Seattle rest Daryn Dupavillon for Marco Jansen, while Haider Ali is dropped for Hilton Cartwright by the Stallions.
1658401296912.png
Cartwright's introduction was a failure, but his opening partners went mad - until the dying, when he was spun out by Sandeep, Vijay Shankar had 80 at a strike rate of 200. Faraan Behardien and Dhananjaya kept it up to finish the inning at a rate of over 10.
1658401435046.png
Seattle went for it, and Prithvi Shaw almost matched Vijay Shankar punch for punch. But Asitha and Joe Burns struggled at the other end, and the remainder of the lineup couldn't hit double figures, and it was ended by an ignonimous run out. LA moved off last place with a thumping win, highlighted by Shankar, Faraan, Iftikhar and Worrall, while Seattle drop to fifth and may sell at the deadline.
MOTM: Vijay Shankar

You really do, not a great day for the batting unit

Also nice to see you on here again
PCCS still seems to randomly throw in a Lendl Simmons-esque innings once in a while. That said, it doesn't happen every match anymore with the new ground settings which is nice.

Thanks for the kind words, too. I'll make a post at some point explaining why I've been away, but that may be a couple weeks off yet (still waiting for a few things to be resolved/resolve themselves)

Houston vs Austin
Match preview: All six of the teams in the southwest are 2-2, so no real need to discuss that. Both teams lost their last game.
Lineup changes: No inclusions or removals for either side, but Tim Seifert is promoted to open for Austin.
1658448463264.png
A poor inning for Houston - their top order predictably couldn't do much against Jasprit Bumrah, but the Kiwi pair of Southee and Henry took out the bottom order.
1658448536040.png
Austin took their time to guard against getting out, but they got there in the end. Tim Seifert thrived in his new spot, while Shadab Khan hit a six to finish the game.
MOTM: Jasprit Bumrah

Kansas City vs Denver
Match Preview: Denver played well last time out but lost to Phoenix, while Kansas won despite Jasprit Bumrah doing the same thing he did to Houston this time around.
Lineup Changes: None.
1658448865801.png
This was a big old graft for Denver - they found singles but couldn't get the ball to the fence. Ambati Rayudu fought his way to 53 and stayed in the whole inning, while Ashton Turner gave some spark at the end to set at least a defendable target.
1658448922777.png
Only one player got going for KC too... but Ruturaj Gaekwad sure made good use of what he had once he was in. 79 off 51 won the game for Kansas, while Denver really have some thinking to do about their fifth bowling slot which has conceded 100 runs across the last two games.\
MOTM: Ruturaj Gaikwad

Phoenix vs Dallas
Match Preview: Two winners last time out - Phoenix by virtue of a Shubman Gill masterclass, while Dallas' quicks tore Houston apart.
Lineup Changes: Phoenix add David Wiese for Mahipal Lomror. There was buzz about Dallas bringing Will Young in too, but he didn't end up in the team.
1658449223306.png
A capable performance from both sides here. After a good start from Shubman Gill, the South African duo of de Villiers and du Plessis pushed the total past 150. For Dallas, Hardik and Abbott bowled well.
1658449336412.png
Dallas were cruising thanks to a quickfire fifty from Yashasvi Jaiswal and a good performance from Niroshan Dickwella, but Rahul Chahar and the expensive Kyle Abbott tore through the middle order. Luckily for Dallas, though, a Neil Wagner boundary got them home with very little to spare.
MOTM: Yashasvi Jaiswal

The table's pretty simple here - this week's winners move to 3-2, losers move to 2-3
