I've learned that you shouldn't have basically the squad that the national team actually use. I noticed after a couple of games that Simon Jones, Ian Bell and Freddie Flintoff are pretty bad in the game compared to reality. What would be the best England XI to use Here's mine.
1. Trescothick
2. Strauss
3. Vaughan
4. Pietersen
5. Flintoff
6. Collingwood
7. Bell/Butcher
8. G.Jones
9. Giles
10. Hoggard
11. Harmison

I'd probably have Thorpe instead of Bell/Butcher and put him in at 4/5

I'd also have Anderson instead of Collingwood

I'd play

1. Newman
2. Tresco
3. Bell
4. KP
5. Thorpe
6. Flintoff (C)
7. Prior (Wkt)
8. Harmison
9. Hoggard
10. Anderson
11. Panesar
Freddie is pretty good for me and Scott Newman is one the best openers on the game. I've tried Collingwood a few times but he's really poor with bat and ball.

does it matter which season your in. I'm in my first. started quite good actually. Beat Bangladesh, won triangular and one day series, drew 2-2 with australia. Then against pakistan lost the tests 2-1 and odi's 3-0. in india lost tests 3-0 and odi's 2-1. i'll change my team and see if it changes my fortunes.

I wouldn't worry too much about losing to Pakistan and India they're the two best teams on the game when they have a few players in form. I'd suggest getting rid of anyone who was terrible and call up the most inform player who can replace him, even if that means calling up an 19 year old. Also make sure you have a wickie who can bat.

Prior did really well for me at County level when I signed him, and I agree that Newman is one of the best openers in the game, when I signed him he averaged around 38 and 25, finished his career averaging over 50 in FC and around 37 in OD cricket. A great signing :)

Jamie Troughton, Mark Davies and Chris Tremlett have all done well for in me in England team.

Troughtons too inconsistent for me. I think the best tactic is to get in regens as quick as possible, as the game rates hardly anyone in the England side.

I tried Newman and he was crap,
but Panasar is
good bowler
good defender with the bat
and a good slip fielder

I find that Kevin Pietersen is the most consistant preformer in ODI's

wow guys thanks for the help. In my next 2 series i beat sri lanka 2-0 won the odi tournament and beat pakistan 4-0 in the 2nd test series.
