What do you think is the best game to write a decent cricket story? Which game gives you full choice over:

1. Squad selections
2. Realism
3. Playability (reasonable game play)
4. Correct difficulty levels
5. Tour-scheduling

I am amazed at the level of detail in some of these stories, so I'm wondering how you guys come up with the ideas to make great stories.

Well It depends what type of story

1. Squads could be any game you want although patches are needed for cricket 07

2. Realism - With Patches Cricket 07 is good but ICC 06/3 can be reasonable

3. Playability - I dont enjoy cricket 07 but whatever you do your story about you MUST enjoy it

4. Depends on your standard but no biggy

5. ICC 06 has a prepared schedule but you can choose who you play in cricket 07

Overall i would say cricket 07 stories seem to be the best as gamer and suren,

but whatever you enjoy should be your story so you dont get bored

good luck in your quest

Thanks Freddi. Nice tips there.

ICC has the right schedules but in cricket 07 you can just go "Test series" and choose 3 tests and the teams who play it etc.. or a tour. Realism I would say cricket 07 with stroke play and tutsi patch. ICC is good but hard to do storys because it takes so quick to do one game then you play like 5 at a time then forget what happened :p

I would say cricket 07. Good luck with the story btw :)

I have C2k5, but the biggest problem is choosing the right AI patches, the right rosters and the right graphics to make this game good.

The defaults are so poor and the teams are outdated.

go on the downloads forums there are always good ones
cricket 05 is a good enough game its what gamer uses

Ask Suren and Gamer what patches they used... Because cricket 05 is much older now its harder to find the right patches.

I'm trying the Spin's realistic patch right now...

Still there are a few bugs here and there with getting the right players into the squad.

Creating each new player for 2007/08 game takes too much time and the player editor doesn't load the roster file properly. :(

Might be I have to buy C2007 or just wait for the next cricket game. :(

i recommend 2007. Even though you will need to download alot of patches, its great when you have the right things you need.

Unfortunately I don't have C07 right now... doubt whether I'd buy it as it's too expensive at the moment.

Now if only BLIC 07 had a good test match mode...

My answer is patched EA Sports Cricket. It not because i have a Cricket 2005 running but story making becomes easy as we have the many patches for the game.

1. Squads : Not a big problem about the squads as we can edit those easily also patches are available to edit squads like the Player Editor.

2. Realism : I don't know about ICC games but the biggest advantage in selecting EA's cricket for stories is that we have many AI patches for the game and most of them are realistic whereas BLIC doesn't have a realistic AI and the user dominates the match everytime. Graphics are good too :)

3. Playability : As i am using Cricket 2005 for my story i can say that i am really enjoying the game play using the patches.

4. Correct difficulty levels : No big issue here as it depends on you to select the difficulty level.

5. Tour-scheduling : Patches are there for EA's cricket.

6. Replays : We get replays from easy and every angle in EA's cricket compared to BLIC games ( I don't know about BLIC 07 as i haven't played it)

Overall i feel that EA's Cricket are the best games for story making. Also with all the above thing the most important thing is to enjoy the game which helps to stick to one story.

Tutsi's AI v 6.0 and AI patch by Boss are the best for Test and ODI's. Rosters can be created ourselves using the player editor.

If you dont have C07 but have C05 then no need to buy C07 imo coz fully patched C05 is lot better than C07.

I hope that you will start a story soon.:)

Hi, thanks gamerkid. Yes, the current problem I have with C2k5 is that I really don't like the bowling part of the game and it takes too long to play a Test match which I don't have the time for.

I'm planning to start a new story with Cricket Coach... seems nobody has made one here before.

I'll probably use real-life for graphics and try first with a small series. And if that goes well, maybe I'll do a full coaching story.
