Here's my poll about the best openers in test cricket (in today's cricket).

I have chosen a group of openers who are currently playing test cricket, to see who you thinks best. Enjoy ;)

Sorry, Mozzila crashed before i could make the poll ;).

EDIT: I can't edit a poll in, somone dlete this thread.

Langer and Hayden.

I think I remember a simular topic about this a while back.

I know about that topic, thats about the greatest opening pair in the history or cricket. This is one opener whos playing now.

I would say Trescothick or Langer.

Openers really depend on each other. Not all openers will perform well with others. Therefore, this is like asking who is the best batsman who is an opener. I prefer thinking about opening batsmen in pairs.

I started at thread about the best openers who play now in ODI cricket. I think this should be on test cricket. I personally think that the Sehwag-gambhir duo could turn out to be extremly dangerous.

Sehwag-Gambhir? Too too early. They just now have started getting more matches together as openers. Quite a long way to go! They havent had too many 100 run partnerships together!

My favorte test opening pair is of course, Justin Langer and Matthew Hayden

Since this is test cricket, I will think twice before voting for anything that includes Sehwag. But Gambhir surely has the potential to become India's version of Justin Langer. Has shown the maturity and composure, and now if only he can replicate that in series outside the subcontinent.

My vote goes to Trescothick and Strauss. Might have not done well in Pakistan, but is one heck of an opening pair.
