Hi Guys,

New here

Does everyone getting black horizontal border in the game at full screen?

When I first got the game, Im pretty sure it wasnt there. Has there been an update recently?

The borders are about 1 inch each and very annoying.

Also I tried other games and they seem to be working fine.

Thank you

I'm guessing that your screen does not have a native 16:9 aspect ratio. There are a few things in the graphics options that do not work at all such as full screen vs borderless windowed, which just plain does not work. Display panel scaling is another thing that is borked too. FWIW my panel is 1680x1050 , which is 16:10 and I also get the black borders.

It's just something you and I have to live with I'm afraid!

Borderless Window Mode works exactly as intended Sparky. It's not a mode by which we turn the game into a 'window' that you can move around at will. What Borderless Window functionality is, is something that allows you to multi-task while playing the game (allowing you to Alt+Tab without distorting the resolution or causing annoying hitches or even potential crashes otherwise). You can see the benefits here: http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Glossary:Borderless_fullscreen_windowed

And we don't scale the display so the picture and game isn't being stretched, we display at the correct resolution and aspect ratio to ensure the images aren't being stretched.

I appreciate the response. cheers! It just struck me as a little weird that there was no obvious difference between fullscreen and borderless windowed (I have multiple screens so being able to drag my mouse across to my second screen in both modes was the first thing I noticed). If that's by design, then I apologise for the misunderstanding :)

I want to state that its not really an issue for me in any case since obviously the game is played with a controller, but had it been a game controlled with a kb+mouse it could have been annoying! :)

That's one cool thing I noted in bootcamp when I alt-tab all the little windows shrink and I can scroll through each window I have open and the game just keeps running as normal while I tab around, it's pretty sweet.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your input, I'm running windows on bootcamp.

I'm 100% sure that there werent black bars when I started playing the game, it just started and have effect the gameplay as well. Low framerate as well.

I got Late 2011 Macbook pro, 8Gb RAm, i7 Quad core cpu. Don't think it should have any troubles running the game

Black bars are just there because the game doesn't support anything other than 16:9 aspect ratios - the MacBook Pro has a 16:10 aspect ratio, so you'll get thin bars top and bottom.

Frame rate will be another matter - depends on the exact model of Macbook - but you could have an Intel HD 3000 and/or a 512MB Radeon 6750M - both wouldn't meet the minimum specifications, so you'll need to turn off/down most of the graphics options.

If you've got the Retina model (2012/13) like me, then you can crank those game settings right up to the maximum because it's beautiful and runs great. Doesn't run at the Retina level, unfortunately. If you're running the Intel Graphics 4000 then you should be getting the same as me, you'll just need to drop the resolution down substantially from the Retina maximum. Back down to around 1920x1080 (I think) is about right.

I can 100% guarantee you there has been no change.

I can support this. I got the game from steam on release day and the black bars have always been there, and like the OP I have a 16:10 screen. In any case I'm cool with that as it makes editing my footage into a standard HD aspect ratio really simple since all I need to do is crop out the black bars. If the game supported 16:10 it would be a pain in the arse!
