Bowling Speeds

In adjusting some of the bowling speeds of certain players who have excelled/dropped their previous average speed, I began thinking about what speeds are linked to certain bowling types (Fast Medium, Fast, Medium etc.) I was wondering what the actual speeds were for each bowling type, especially considering we don't have a Medium Fast option. I just want to get as close as possible to the players actual speeds in real life, which is hard for a player like Mitchell Starc, who is on the borderline of Fast and Fast Medium.

I think there should be something in the middle. Very few players in history have ever bowled 150+ yet there are many in the game doing it. On the other hand, fast-medium guys struggle to get above 140 km/h.

Also I think a more realistic way, which is what they had back in BLIC 2005, is a gradient of speed. What the bowler is called shouldn't matter too much. They should just have a speed rating say out of 100, and then you can arbitrarily assign ranges that correspond to fast, fast-medium etc, but they are nothing more than a name.

Also it is missing a medium-fast. Medium is too slow, about 115 km/h which is not a common type of bowler. It's like a Ravi Bopara type. There should be a medium-fast that bowls 120-130, like a Watson, and then fast-medium bowls 130-145.

There is a way to achieve it, may be not 100% accurate but some what accurate.

The arm speed attribute needs be adjusted for the bowler in the academy.

So for example someone like Starc who is Fast Medium should have maximum arm speed attribute for a fast medium, which will mean he will achieve speeds of around 147kph.

Where as for a bowler like Albie Morkel who is also Fast Medium in the game, you can reduce arm speed to minimum so his maximum pace would be around 135kph.

Same can be achieved with the fast bowlers, with bowlers like Shaun Tait having maximum arm speed to achieve speeds of around 158kph, and if arm speed for Fast bowler is reduced to minimum the maximum speed would be around 149kph.

But bro I am sure I have played with few fast bowlers whose arm speed attribute is around 50%, but still they can bowl at 158.4 Km/h. Are you sure Arm speed has anything to do with ball speed?
