Okay so we all have a lot of time at home at present, and the Panesar Draft has been moving rather slowly because there are so many of us. The last Budget Draft was based on Test averages, and this one is similar, but different.

You will have to select the best team you can, but they may have no more than ten Test centuries between them.
  • All players must have played at least one Test match.
  • All usual draft rules apply, such as the 24-hour window to make your pick.
Finally, this draft will have a hard limit of six people. This is because of how slowly the bigger drafts can move sometimes.

Okay, let's go!

My pick... Muttiah Muralidaran

Arguably the best ever bowler to have played the game of cricket. 800 test wickets at an average if 22..

Costs me zero centuries..

Graeme Pollock. Okay, okay, I know you realize that this is the player that's my go to in every draft, but honestly, I don't think it's undeserved.

With the 10-Test Century limit, I think it's relatively easy to build a strong bowling line. That's why I wanna focus on my batsmen early on so I can (hopefully) get the best ones available before they're all gone, and for a player who scored less than 10 centuries, I think Pollock is arguably the best player I can pick for the coveted number three spot. I don't think it's an overkill at all.

You're next @Aislabie

Just to clarify, I assume it’s no more than 10 centuries each, rather than 10 centuries across the board?

You will have to select the best team you can, but they may have no more than ten Test centuries between them.

It was your post that made me realize that this rule is something I might need to re-check, and it turned out it wasn't what I first thought it was. :facepalm

@Aislabie can I change my pick?

It's ten in total; tried to be unambiguous.

@Aislabie can I change my pick?
Given that it was on the basis of understanding the rules of the draft, I'll happily let you go back and redress it. Although I may still go ahead and make my pick if I get to it before dinner.

WG Grace it is then. 54,211 first-class runs for the price of just 2 Test centuries? I'll happily take that over Pollock's 20,940 first-class runs for the price of 7 Test centuries. Even though Pollock might've been the better of two (even if just slightly), I think Grace is the more reasonable pick.
