BUDGET DRAFT: ODI NATIONS
Greetings all, and welcome to another Budget Draft. Following on from the previous Budget Drafts (Project 200 and 10 Test Centuries), I'd like to introduce something slightly different. Today's Budget Draft is a one-day international draft, designed to make you all pick the most diverse teams we've yet seen. Your job will be to create the best possible ODI team within the following constraints:
  1. You must not select more than one player per country.
    • In the case of a player having represented more than one country, you can choose whichever country is more convenient to you.
  2. The cost of your player nationalities must not exceed 25 points; to see how much each nationality costs, check the spoiler below.
  3. All other usual draft rules apply regarding the 24 hour window for picks.
I'm looking to get this started once we've all finished 10 Test Centuries and I've done the team analysis, but until that time you can most certainly feel free to sign up.

I guess the player in question should have played at least a game for his second country to count instead of him declaring his intention to represent said country being sufficient enough.

Never done a draft before, guess I can give it a go.

EDIT: A question, do I pick the team in order from 1 to 11 or can I pick, say number 8 first? It may seem a dumb question but I've not done one of these things ever...

You can pick in any order.

However, try to pick those players first, whom you think would get picked instantly...

Eg: In a best test players, you would want to pick Don Bradman first, rather than going for Mason Crane first (if you would want to pick him)

I'd never pick Bradman for a best anything.

But got it, I've got a few spots already in mind, I just hope that others don't take them first.
Also, you gotta start quoting posts man. It doesn’t give alerts if you reply without quotes.

I'll go with Shakib Al Hasan as my first pick. The greatest ODI all-rounder of this generation, and Bangladesh's greatest ever cricketer.

:wi: :ar: Viv Richards

ODI stats
: 6,721 runs @ 47.00 (SR: 90.20, 11 centuries, best 189*) and 118 wickets @ 35.83 (econ: 4.49, 2 5WI, best 6/41) in 187 matches
List A stats: 16,995 runs @ 41.96 (SR: n/a, 26 centuries, best 189*) and 290 wickets @ 30.59 (econ: 4.35, 3 5WI, best 6/24) in 500 matches

Batting VARP (top order): :up: 157.5%
Bowling VARP (spin): :down: 1.6%

An easy first pick, Viv Richards was a huge figure in the development of one-day cricket and stood head and shoulders above his peers: a VARP of over 100% is absolute elite territory, and that's the territory Sir Isaac Vivian Alexander Richards belongs in. He will be one of my top-order hitters, batting at either number three or his more usual four. Although his off-spin bowling was slightly less valuable than a replacement player, he could yet be given the role of a stock spinner in my team.

@Aislabie's XI

Player||Primary Role||Secondary Role
:wi: :ar: Viv Richards| |Top-order hitter| |Stock spinner?
